I spoke to Paul earlier and found out that he has recently had a very serious injury playing for his new team. An over stretch left him being rushed to Kings hospital in london for a 6 hour operation on his spine.

A disk in his back has been 'moving around' for a long while, when he over stretched during the game the disk moved and was left pushing on his spinal cord. Surgery has left him with the lower part of the back of spine being removed. Due to this he is now, through physio, having to learn to walk again. Reasuringly he will but lets just say it wasn't guarenteed that the op would be successful and he may of been left without the use of his legs.

Surprisingly he seems in high spirits which is really good.

I have no idea if the football club new about what had happened, if they had then Im hoping that they would of had told us.

Just to also inform you, the BBC have been following Paul throughout his recent ordeal and will showing the programme on tv next May!

Personally I hope that he makes a safe and speedy recovery! All the best Paul! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
