Tend to agree with Bodyform, and i guess week to week contract may suit player and club as they'get to know each other' again.

It does strike me, that in Manny ,Sesay and Robinson, we have three players with a similar type of game, so the 'balance ' of the additional strikers may be a bit odd.

I wish him really well with 'Gate though and hope he can give us something a successful alternative striker option.

I see Manny now added to squad list-thanksMFC for keeping it 'to date'.

Interesting that if correct that Manny is 'only' on a week to week contract, he has been added to the profiles.Technically correct of course, but does that hint at a bit of 'permanency',or maybe he is on a longer contract after all.

this says a lot about how u treat up and coming players. These players have come through preseason then to be shoved down a list because of a player who might want to play for Margate but on the other hand may clear off for better pastures.

Is he really that good that everyone else has let him go?

Personally I would rather see him not come

Do we know if Manny is 'a fixture'.

Not there as far as i read on Tuesday night-maybe just unavailable that night, but as posted in previous Manny thread, he did seem to have a habit of being indisposed a few times in his previous spell for whatever reason.

Probably just a one-off on Tuesday, although i also note that in NLP ,RT is quoted as still lokking for another forward in next few weeks (but you can't rely on info in the NLP !!)

Oddly enough, midfield is the area where imo we are slightly 'understaffed',despite in June having about 10 midfield/wide players on the books (or those who can play in midfield)is midfield !!

June-Protheroe,McKimm,Jackson,Abbott.

Sesay Gradley Deen Standen Yiga,Brayley.

Late August- Protheroe, McKimm Jackson,,Abbott.

Sesay(not sure what is happening there,

Standen-can ost definately play in midfield/wide left, but seems to be

a full back(and a good one) these days.

Yiga-on transfer list .

Thus, arguably there are just 4 midfield players(appreciate there are some 'improvers' aswell in Robinson and Wisker, but experienced midfield players looks a bit light now.

I think RT himself said that midfield is the key-and i agree-so all it needs is injury, suspension ,loss of form, and our potentially strong midfield is decimated

And in terms of quality, if there is an injury, suspension, loss of form to the 'Fab Four' ?

I appreciate you can't have the best possible cover for every single position, but personally, i feel midfield is so so vital. The whole game is played through midfield, and if you underperform there, you have no chance .

As it is, i thought we did not take control in midfield at Worthing as we should have done, and the reports suggest similar on Tuesday.

Its just a bit disappointing, when a few weeks ago, we knew we had Gradley and Deen to play there, and indeed ensure no-one could be assured of their place.

Agree we are light on striker cover, but imo ,that is not so important as midfield

Abbott can play centrally if needed with Robinson coming in at right midfield. Or he could play wide left should Jacko be unavailable. I think Robinson is good enough at this level as a winger.

MM, I would much much rather have Abbott in central midfield than either Gradley or Deen. Robinson is more than good enough to come in out wide.

The jury is out on Robinson MM but from what he's showed us in his run outs in pre season he looks useful. By all means he has to prove himself though when he gets his chance. He looks to have the ability though so its all up to him. He should get the chance as you have pointed out we don't have loads of midfielders now and the same four players can't play 50 straight games

[color:"blue"]I just hope the likes of Robinson, Hogart, Wisker and Williams can be blooded frequently as subs for the final 10 minutes or so,whilst we still have an injury/suspension free squad. That would be better than suddenly having to throw them into a full 90 minutes as an untried(in a competitive game) backup.

then why did he not get a runout when 5-0 up in first game.

when 1-1 why not try to win game with extra striker

not sure he is going to get a game very often and 10 mins is not enough for a striker to gain confidence etc he needs to have at least 30 mins to get into a game.

hardest job is to come on and turn a game in 10 mins when not playing regularly
