From the archives which seems to be my view of the match,

"Despite shots from Velandia, Negus and Smith, they still could not find a second and seemed to have paid the price when Wivenhoe equalised through an own goal. A shot deflected off Paul Campbell, beyond keeper Mark Cousins, leaving him no chance. Wivenhoe seemed to be inspired by the goal and kept pushing forward after that. But Enfield Town finally got their rewards when they regained the lead five minutes later. A good ball in from Matt Negus was headed on at the near post by Lee Smith. In the crowded goalmouth, Kevin Stephens was on hand to thunder the ball into the top corner.

The final minutes were end to end stuff, and Cousins pulled off a fine save to deny Simon Thomas an equaliser as Wivenhoe finally got into the game, but they had left it too late."

I know that it is difficult but I got the impression that if the game had gone on then the town would have lost. Wivenhoe finished very strongly and were unlucky not to take at least a point.

I presume the last paragraph is your own opinion, rather than part of the match report?

So Wivenhoes only goal was an O.G.The last few mintes were end to end (after Town had most of the chances in the second half),but you still thought Wivenhoe would have won if the game had gone on? How long would the game have had to go on for,in order for wivenhoe to not only find a equaliser BUT a winner as well (without Town adding to their Two goals)??

Come on, lets get real.Wivenhoe only threatened in the last five minutes because we didn't kill the game off, after failing to convert a hatfull of chances throughout the second half.

I don't call that 'having the measure of us' in any shape or form.

Never saw you with rose tinted spectacles - Is there an archive for your comments at that time? lol <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/attentat.gif" alt="" />

I think that they won the last game between the two and deserved to, shows that they did get the measure of us in the end as the original post said.
