No, but one of the greatest examples of a club not wishing to give up is Saffron Walden Town who came into the League and were bottom, then won it in the next season ! East Ham United were on the end of a few whoppers in my early years and the thing that cheered me up this afternoon was the way that Beaumont moved the ball around at times and never gave up till the final whistle went, then they took time out in congratulating the excellent Burnham team as they left the field in a very well disciplined match. I sincerely hope that Beaumont can now go into Monday night's game with renewed vigour and desire to succeed in this tough old league of ours !

i'm sorry to disagree on the beaumont subject,mr league chairman.a team that concedes 22 goals in 3 games...there must be something wrong you mentioned how they pass the ball well?uhmm, that's easy when the opposition is winning by 4 or 5 goals and let you have it only to punish you even more when you give it away cheaply like i'm sure they have done it many times over the course of the 3 games played.i don't know what to think but having played football myself, you should ask the beaumont players how they feel being on the receiving end of a trashing, week in week out? it ain't nice and affects you.may be they should go and get some better players and toughened up a bit because,i know we were desperate to have a league of 16 teams,it won't reflect well on our league if they keep being hammered every time.just a thought..

Not in our league but in our area I believe that Sporting Bengal started off in the Kent League with a series of fairly heavy defeats and, although still not one of the challengers for top postions even these days, they have settled down and manage to hold their own most of the time.

So give the Monties time lads and, even with a bit of stiffening up, I am sure that they will be an asset to the ESL eventually.

Also, Monties and Sporting Bengal groundshare the Mile End Stadium, so they'll get plenty of good advice.

sporting bengal joined the kent league in 2003-04 and finished 17th out of 17 in 2004,14th out of 16 in 2005,15th out of 16th in 2006 with a new manager that said second place is not good for him...at the last home match(fa cup first time ever)there 155 paying people!that's more than romford in our league,so they should flex their muscles now if you call that settling down

OB is right Coachie, between 2002/03 & 2004/05. Hullbridge won just 8 x out of 90 league games. But to their credit they hung in there and are turning it around now (I forecast a good season for you).

So you could say "from little acorns....."
