Northfleet End

Its important to get the Northfleet end open.

 

Apart from the legal aspects which has to be the criteria, the away goalkeepers are getting away with murder one half whereas poor old Lance is still getting one half game of barracking from whatever away support arrives.

 

This is after all an important part of the game, particularly in the earlier years of the average supporter.

 

I still think that the club should have an open mind though about seating and payment.

 

I take the point though that supporters would be reluctant to pay extra to sit behind the goal.

 

As for current support. I believe that what we have at the moment is the expected hardcore of 8 to 9 hundred who cannot always turn up every week for one reason and another, and I think that it has remained since the closure of the Northfleet End.

 

Unless the fleet are winning on a regular business or doing well in the cup, the fickle G & N public tend to stay away.

 

I dont think that has changed for 35 to 40 years.

 

I wish it would, the club deserve better for their efforts.

Charging us to go back to where we want to stand (sit, sorry!!) would seem harsh. We need to get back there to create that second half atmoshere that always used to help the team score . . .
