Northfleet End

Recommended Posts

I may be mistaken but I thought that Brian said someting fairly similar to what Bernard wrote.

But that was many months ago, so there must have been further delays since then, or our redrawn plans needed furthr amending.

whatever the issue, similar to the hole in the roof after the Notts Co. game , the Northfleet end situation is a joke.

I am very defensive of the club but,, in this respect, I have to concede that we are very shabby and all the piss take that we get from visiting fans, and from the ad hoc premiership fan that I manage to convince to come to the Fleet ( Yes I still bang on like some religous zealot, to anyone that will listen that supporting your local club is a viable alternative to watching premiership every week )on the chin and agree with them.

AS a life long supporter of this club I can do without all the bullshine about the stand, all I would like to know is, are the club going to get it done sooner than later. In this case no news is not always good news, so please give us some hope or a date would be even better David, when I will get back to my favourite spot. After 60 years you get set in your ways as I hope you will find out one day.Fleet on the pitch but alas not on the stand.

Fortunately for all concerned the 'story', which is only false for those who lack the relevant information, is now immaterial, since the work has at last begun.

I think the introduction of seats at the plough end, will change the ground for the better, and make it look tidier.

I also believe it may enhance the clubs image,by making the ground look more up to date.

Other than a few stewards no one had stood there for approx a year, so the majority have found other places to stand.

I realise that a lot of die hards prefer no change, but it could help out some of our disabled members.elderly and very young.

Oh!!! will the seats spell THE FLEET in red and white ??

Thanks Alan, I knew you'd be the finger on the pulse.

I still feel though that if there is a benefit to the club why not charge. Apart from the mainstand seat season ticket holders, whats to stop the normal paying seated supporters from going behind the goal f.o.c.?

I believe the thought was that people wouldnt want to pay extra to sit behind the goal and that we may end up with an unused area (or used by only a small number) which is exactly what the club are looking to avoid.

The other thought is that by simply having the end open again, it will attract a few more back through the gate on the basis that the atmosphere will improve further.
