SAINTS 3-5 SHOTS

Recommended Posts

To be fair to Aldershot they deserved the vicotry especially when that scissor kick went flying in! But we shouldnt be too dissapointed there were plus points! For example scoring 3 goals so we know we can score goals like last season also when Robert Norris came off the bench he lookes like he good be an amazing player for this club! i thought Ben lewis was pretty poor in the second half but lets not be to downhearted and now we have a massive game at altringham next week! and there the games that we have to get points from!

Second-half goals from Marwa, Cracknell (both fairly scrappy) and a Tom Davis penalty. Good to break our home duck this season, and we won't score 3 and lose too many times this season. We showed glimpses of what we're capable of. Wilde did very well, and the three subs looked sharp (Norris in particular). Shame the defence went awol in the second half. Attendance 1,300. Need a big performance next week, agreed.

Oh dear there I was thinking we don't look out of place in this league when the 'shots' score 4 quick second half goals to go 1-5 ahead. It was good though to see the mini comeback at the end to make it 3-5.

Problem same as lat year - city seem to lose shape at times and the back 4 come under constant pressure.

Positives ? - Hopefully city should be able to beat the lesser sides if they keep their concentration. Also liked the look of Norris when he came on.

Definetely need more of a physical presence in the midfield. Look at our midfield and attack, and none of them are stronger than the average player.

It was tough today, and we resorted to the long ball, which isn't our style now, and never will be.

Only started playing when we were 5-1 up, but we had chances at 0-0, and at 3-1, and I lost count of the amount of times a ball went across the face of the goal and noone was there!

Thought Paul Hakim ran his socks off. Terrific work rate. Hann better watch over his shoulder, as Norris looks very sharp. Wilde put in some dangerous deliveries, but doesn't look like he can last 90 minutes.

I thought Flynn went missing in the second half, will be glad when Scottie gets back.

Agree the central midfield is too weak.

Still Altrincham & Tamworth are both games we can pick up points (Hopefully the full 6) before going to the champions !

Really ? I don't recall that happening much last year...maybe against Kettering.

I think city had a few games last year when they were "up against it" for short periods. Only the brilliance of Bazza and the failings of the opposition let us "off the hook" before city usually regained control. I think a solid (ie hard defensive) midfield player would go a long way towards solving the problem.
