When the team was read out and Smudger was announced at 3, Rock Steady & I looked at each other and burst out laughing! The reason being that 5 minutes before this we were joking with some other fans about the formation we expected to play & Rock Steady said....

"I bet the left back is still right footed"

we were expecting to see a new right footed signing at left back, the fact Smudger was in this position just reassured us that nothing had changed, still tinkering and absolutely clueless.

Lets see how many changes there are at full/wing back in the coming games, stable flat back four PLEASE, with the exception of injuries or suspensions, it cant be that hard.... can it?

well to be fair to your manager gazza he started with a VERY flat back four and we ran rings around it...it was only when you were 2 down and the manager went 3-4-3 that you looked anything like promotion material...(and fair play to him for having the balls to do it as it could have easily backfired if we had stayed up the pitch in the last 30 instead of sitting so deep)...you'll be alright as the season moves on a gear...I shall be very surprised if you don't have a good season again...

Well when you have a player at left back that is use to playing up front or midfield.... get my drift Unc.
Smudger is a quality player who always gives 110% but there are limits to "utility player!

Well our close scrape with Hornchurch was nothing compared to their 5 - 0 win over Great Wakering with a gate of 410. They are top of the league but I think if they slip up we could well give them a better run for the title than we gave Borehamwood last year.

Wakering will be ther in teh relegation scrap come the end of the season.
