I think the report on Worthing site, though a bit biased in favour of Worthing is fairly accurate, and shows that there were an awful lot of close calls on the Margate goal;and as a couple of us have said, game could easily have been 7-6 or 9-7.

 

Credit to Margate though for seizing the opportunities when it really mattered;and to bothteams for keepig up that pace throughout the game

Well, for a first game in the season I must say I was pretty satisfied with the result. The game was won emphatically in the first half, and it was no surprise that Worthing came back into it in the second. Credit to them they were on the attack from the off, and did their utmost for the entire game. Credit to our defence, and fabulous keeper, that we limited them to two.

Perhaps Jeff could tell us if Margate has ever won an opener (away) with 5 goals in 30 minutes before? Apart from Wealdstone and AFC last season and Maidenhead the season before I cannot remember feeling so high at an away game. Brilliant stuff. If that is a promise of things to come just think of the enjoyment we (well me, anyway) will get out of the season.

Well done to Trotty and the lads, I like their style. Roll on Tuesday.

Have'nt been brought up that way over last few season's !!!

Went into the bar at half time and everyone looked stunned! I thought someone might have put a hallucinogenic item in the drinks and we were going to wake up at any moment and feel like we did last year.

I think I could grow to like and embrace this current feeling of excitement though. It's only that for a few years we have not had cause to feel it very often.

A couple more of these and we are looking at much improved bums on seats for the season. Who would want to miss what we saw yesterday?
