Enfield Town vs AFC Hornchurch

Ryman League Division One North

Tomorrow we start our first ever Isthmian campaign with a tough match at home to AFC Hornchurch. The Urchins may not have the financial backing and high profile squad that their predecessors, Hornchurch FC, had towards the end but they are still going to be one of the better sides in this division.

We haven't exactly been idle over the close season and a number of players will be making their competitive debuts at Goldsdown Road in this game. This is expected to draw one of our largest crowds this season, so if you can come along early and help out at the ground that will be most welcome. Also, we would remind you that our ground is easily accessible by public transport so, if you could come by bus or train that would put less of a strain on parking around the area.

If you take some photos at the game and want them to show up through the link from this site, upload them to Flickr and add the following tags:

They will then be picked up by the search.

Player News

Just ahead of the season opener with AFC Hornchurch, Town have made a valuable signing. Michael Black has joined Town from Boreham Wood where he was part of their Championship winning side last year. Previous clubs include Cheshunt, Bishops Stortford and Billericay Town as well as league experience with Arsenal, Millwall, Tranmere Rovers and Southend United. A former England Schoolboy International, Michael is also the brother of Tommy Black of Crystal Palace.

Apologies for the downtime which occurred for a few hours earlier. Many thanks to Ian for getting it back up and running so quickly once the fault was identified.

Hopefully this will respond to a fix and we should be back up and running properly soon!

Phil.
