OneClub officially announced as Hendon player....

Recommended Posts

Rak, sorry just seen your post on this thread about Takumi and see he won't be ready for tomorrow. I honestly can't see why people on here, even his team mates, don't give him the credit he deserves, it's blatantly obvious that he's a class act and, as you know, is totally dedicated to the Club he is with which is a God send for Hendon as he had other irons in the fire after leaving Haringey Borough where his talent was totally un-appreciated and they should have put him on a decent contract.

Neutralbob - Well fair do's but I thought this Forum was all about people's opinions otherwise there would be no point. Paula - I thought you had attached a link to a pic of Takumi, I've got plenty on my computer at work so I'll see whether I can work out how to do it unless I can e-mail one or two to you at work later on and you can do it if you have time, there are some really great action shots of him. I'll make it worth your while!

Manager fears the drop

Hendon boss Gary McCann admits it will be a massive achievement' if the Greens can avoid relegation from the Ryman League Premier Division this season.

McCann, speaking before Saturday's opener at home to Tonbridge Angels, said that it was probably going to be another tough year for the club.

"Being realistic, our aim must be to stave off relegation," he said. "Anything above that will be a bonus."

continued...

McCann, who was speaking at the club's pre-season photocall on Monday, praised the loyal Hendon fans and asked them to get behind the side again this year.

"The supporters were excellent last season and we need the same again," he said.

Those fans might have to be patient, as McCann pointed out the fact it could take time for his side to gel. He said that apart from about half-a-dozen players, the squad was made up of new faces.

McCann believes he has brought in a number of quality players, despite the club's financial restraints.

"Most managers will tell you it can be difficult getting the right players in during pre-season, but with us it is more so because of the financial situation," he said. "But we have assembled a good squad."

Among the new faces are goalkeeper Richard Wilmot, who has returned to the club from Hitchin Town, while fellow stopper Anthony O'Connor is another new arrival, having previously played in the Irish League.

Three new defenders have signed. Craig Vargas has joined from Brook House, Ryan Wharton from Hillingdon Borough and Hussain Karas was previously with Brentford. New faces in midfield include Dwane Williams and Greg Deacon. Josh Hunte and Rakki Hudson will also be fighting for places in the centre of the park. Wing-back Wayne O'Sullivan was previously with Newport County, while strikers Dean Thomas and Nas Richardson came from Harefield United. Fellow front man Leon Maloney also has experience in local football

Hard to tell as the team that will play tomorrow have not really be togeher for the pre season. Pre Season seems to have been about getting a biggger squad as the club are running a reserve side this season. That said, we have kept the majorty of last season's squad and added to it, so we should be ok.

Read my post about what our manager said.
