Early Closure

Anyone got any idea why the bar closed early last night? I did ask only to be told 'because I said so'. It wasn't as if the place was empty, there were still those trying to buy drinks after I'd been refused.

 

The supporters club are going to look into it, but I wondered if anyone had any ideas/ views.........

I was at the bar buying a drink and the barman told me that he was closing in ten minutes.

 

Then a little after he'd closed John Fenelly came up for a drink (about 10:30) only to be it was shut.

 

I asked the barman to make an exception for John but to no avail.

 

A few hints spoken quite loudly by some of those present.

 

When we left another barman followed us outside and asked that nothing was said to the bar staff.

 

I suggested that they get a bell to ring time so that everyone is aware of last orders, etc.

 

They said they didn't have a bell.

 

I suggested the call "Last orders, please".

 

We agreed it was a learning process in the bar and we all went our seperate ways.
