Was a good performance i thought Flynn was excellent, hit the bar twice in the first half but Bastock was called upon a few times. Elphick seemed to get struck because of a challenge he did so he got a second yellow and the Cambridge player got a straight red. At the end some players for example Seeby looked really tired but we hung on well for a good result. they brought a fair few around 5-600. Thought Wilde wasdecent down the wing with Tommy D putting in a skillful performance

Point gained is true. Their fitness, pace and skill showed through towards the end, and it began to look as though we were down to 10 whilst they had 11. That said, Bazza wasn't fully tested, and we hit the woodwork twice. We couldn't've complained had we suffered a defeat, but we're in need of a goal at home at the moment! Roll on Sunday...

The atmosphere was just about ok as there were no roofs. 790 U's fans made the trip, your stewards were very frinedly, they let us in the home turnstile so we could go to the shop.

Also your club house was nice, friendly people in it. Shame there were no goals, but a good game.

Cannot believe he is still playing.. Played for Fisher against Barnet the day the Bees came up the first time in 91. Got sent off too if memory serves me well, and Gary Bull who got two that day, still plays too..for Lincoln United.
Guess you couldn't give a toss really, but had to share it with you lot!!!
By the way I hate Steve Clark, never forgiven him for that late goal in the FA Cup game in 94...
Still we won the battle of the Crown with 1970s man... <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Elphick got booked in the first half for what looked like just a foul but you know what ref's are like these days.

No arguement with the red though, thought he was lucky not to get a straight red for the two-footed lunge from behind. OK, he got a bit of the ball but went straight through the man.

Nice people from Cambridge, you can come again.

I don't think we'll be playing Romford again any time soon.

You know how to wound. Only since we dropped out of the East Anglian Cup. I am sure our two balls were magnetized in that competition..mind you three times in five years in the FA Cup too..makes you wonder.
Still got the tape of the BBC coverage of that game. All I need now is a VCR to play it again..
How sad am I...used to think that one day if I kept watching it Rossy would have scored the chance he spurned a few mins before Clarky struck.

I assume we're talking about a certain John Farmer here?
