But on the plus side doing it this way does mean Phil if he is sensible and where possible can 'manufacture' a title or relegation decider at the end of the season.

.....

That could be controversial lol, yeah, I understan what you mean, in that case its Harefield v Edgware last game of the season <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Spidermanor - I have to say that I'm extremely shocked by those comments, Phil is held in very high regard and, I repeat, does a superb job in juggling fixtures to help Club's out of tight spots, it doesn't help him when so many Club's are involved in County Cup competitions and this is one of the prime reasons why we don't get all the fixtures in one hit. As for being humourless, that's probably the best one I've heard since one of your mate Lato's gems.

Rhodes

1. Monthly fixtures are an embarrassment to the league.
2. It is not Phil Rolts job to 'juggle fixtures to help clubs out of a tight spot' some might call that a bit naughty.
3. I called him humouless based on conversations with the man, I don't say such things about people unless I have met them. Ask him why he can't do a season long fixture list and you'll see what I mean.
4. You're shocked are you about what? Someone disagreeing with one of your inane opinions or that I'm prepared to be honest about someone in so called position of position of power?

Lato - It's possibly another Ruislip Manor attempt at humour, I still can't get over Spidermanor calling Phil Rolt humourless which has had me rolling around in the isles all day. You all seem to make fun of what I say but telepathic is no exageration when it comes to describing the way Kentish Town play the beautiful game and yesterday was another prime example, the defence were rock solid under some pretty strong Ampthill pressure in the second half however our keeper, who was injured, barely had a save to make.

Well he didn't save the one shot that the defence did allow on target did he!!!

How did that happen if your team are so good

Are there any other step 5 leagues who do monthly fixtures only?

The answer is yes, but not many. UCL have their fixtures up to the end of December only. Sussex are monthly, but they have their Christmas fixtures (so people can plan ahead).

What is the norm in the SSML? Are we given derby games on Boxing Day and Easter Monday as in other leagues?

To be honest we may not get games on Boxing Day itself. We do tend to get a midweek game during that week. In the past couple of years we've travelled to Holmer Green and Haringey so it is fairly local.

Nope the 'great'Phil can't be bothered with all that local derby nonsense. You'll more likely to get a midweek evening away game on the nearest Tuesday to Christmas, probably at the club furthest away from you.

I was a fixture sec for a few years for the MHRML (a youth league). We also did monthly fixtures ('cos of all the cup games) and had all the clubs clamouring for a full season list. We did it manually, as I'm assuming Phil does, and it was not an easy job - at that level juggling who had grounds available etc as well.

Phil has moaned to me in the past that he hasn't been able to find a computer programme that gives him what he needs to compile a whole season's fixtures. I did advise that he speaks to the other Leagues to see what they use. Mind you, I can see a drawback if the League isn't prepared to pay for the software he needs and they are hardly a forward thinking committee.

Still, I have already suggested a couple of months ago on another thread how easily a full season's fixtures could be produced so I don't have an awful lot of sympathy for Phil's arguments.

It's time for Potters Bar Town's favourite time of the week when I kindly type out Phil Rolt's interesting summary of the weeks SSML action for those who didn't bother purchasing Non League yesterday for whatever reason:

The SSML Premier Division's final 100% record disappeared on Tuesday when leaders Harefield United were held 3-3 at Holmer Green. Rob Pooley fired Green into an early lead but Danny Jordan soon equalised from the penalty spot. Three goals in eight minutes around the half hour left United ahead 3-2 at half time with Sean Sonner and Adam Willis scoring for United and Adam Grace responding for Green. The final goal came three minutes after the break from Rob Pooley to earn his side a point. Edgware Town moved to within a point of Harefield with a 6-2 win at Tring Athletic, Richard Morton opened for Town in the first minute but Andy Humphries levelled only for Stewart Blackburne to edge Edgware into a half time lead. Morton hit two goals in a minute at the start of the second half to complete his hat trick before a late Adam Wallace double put Town in complete control. Humphries second of the evening brought some respectability. London Colney are third after a 5-2 home win over Aylesbury Vale, Jermaine Davey led the way with a double, Steve Flain, Martin Cumberbatch and an own goal completed the scoring for Colney. Danny Jones and Paul Talbot replied for Vale. Broxbourne Borough hit Langford with a four goal first half blast before finally winning 4-2, Emile Aiken, an own goal, Adam Noteman and Lee Newman were responsible for Borough's first half domination, Robert Groves and Adam Pitcairn responded. Martin Standen with a double and singles for Scott Lacey and Jake Parratt earned Colney Heath their first Premier Division victory defeating Ruislip Manor 4-0. Jack Weeden gave Biggleswade United the lead at Hertford Town who earned a point with a Ryan Redford goal. Ivan Forbes and Anatoliy Snigur hit two apiece as Kingsbury London Tigers defeated Haringey Borough 4-0. James Armstrong gave Leverstock Green the lead at home to Chalfont St Peter but Saints earned a point through Terral Lewis. Matt Maskel and Kevin Gray scored as St Margaretsbury defeated Oxhey Jets 2-0. An excellent summary as usual Phil, the only thing missing was perhaps a mention of Tommy Lambourne making his Ruislip Manor debut.

Yes that..and the fact how the goals were actually scored! but it's a hard job having to make up reports without any idea of what the game was liked. As I found out, the whole report is based puurley around goaltimes. When they missheaerd the time for our game last week the whole report was wrong.

Still, thanks Rhodes for putting up here.

Gavin - You're welcome but no doubt Potters Bar Town will have his usual moan, you can't please some people.

But PBT, Lambourne is destined for great things so he deserves a mention. I'm still waiting for my Takumi supplement to arrive!

Not being one to disappoint, here is my usual moan. Why should there be any mention of the debut of Tommy Lambourne for Ruislip Manor? How long would the round up be if it mentioned every player who made a debut throughout the League.
Potters Bar Town - That comment was very much tongue in cheek so trust you to pick up on it. How did you get on today at Maldon Town by the way.
