DJ Campbell returns to Stevenage.......

......and Paul Fewings and Dave Mcdonald return from their loan spells, according to this weeks Gazette. I guess the club decided that with the impending return of PF & DM they couldnt afford to keep DJ which is a real shame as he gave us something different up front, SKILL & PACE.

No mention of DJ's departure on the Town-line today. I did read on teletext the other day that Stevenage are currently having an injury crisis. Maybe they called him back? Still I do agree, DJ has pace, skill, and the ability to beat defenders for fun and like Joe Baker the knack of producing and creating the unexpected. The sort of player that gets people through the turnstiles. Will be missed if he has gone.

From Stevenage Boro Website, note who was in the team, yes, DJ Campbell

HERTS SENIOR CUP

Boro moved into the last 4 of the Herts Senior Cup last night after a 4-2 victory at Broxbourne.

Richard Howell and Martin Williams (2), put Boro into a 3-1 half time lead.

But Boro could only net the once in the second half through teenager Joe Flack (right), and comfortably progressed.

Boro: Wilson, Travis, Glidden, Scott, Stirling, Dreyer, Howell, McMahon, Midson, Williams, DJ Campbell. Subs: Doyle, Flack, Bunyan.

I think it's a real shame that he hasn't stayed - as Ryan said he was one of those players that you thought something was going to happen every time he got tha ball. That said he would have been an expensive luxury for us.

Interesting to see Fewings and McDonald back at the club - I suppose PF will have to hope he gets the opportunity to play himself back into the managers plans, hopefully he's used his time at Stortford to get some fitness back. Can't see DM playing much to be honest, with Henty and Russell ahead of him (in my opinion anyway) in the queue for the right back spot.

The squad is looking a little less threadbare now, with Carthy seemingly finished his course and Fewings and McD back. Still like to see another striker though, one with a bit of pace would be nice.......

Hopefully we can put a good run together over Christmas and into January and with a few saturday home games on the horizon we should start to see the crowds increase then hopefully there'll be a bit more money to spend on players......
