Isn't it quite dangerous for people to be sitting at home alone, so near to Christmas, with a turkey carving knive, listening to Radiohead.

It's only dangerous if you're a manic depressive, with suicidal tendencies, but I've got me some anti-deppressants and a Samaritans hotline, it certainly helped through 'Jamie's Kitchen'.

SteveP - I agree that Radiohead are fantastic, so there you go you're not the only one. In fact, they might well be my favourite band if I had to have one.

 

Does anyone remember the episode of Father Ted when they had a suicidally depressed Priest to stay. Eventually they got him all cheered up (by listening to the song 'Shaft'), and he got on a bus to go home at which point the driver stuck on the radio and on came Radiohead (exit music from a film I think was the tune). If you don't remember it then you can probably guess the rest. Cracking! (although probably much funnier when you actually watch the episode rather than just summarising it)

Quite right the voice. Not sure how you knew <img src="/forums/images/icons/wink.gif" alt="" /> but I am a bit of a Chris Morris fan. And Alan Partridge. And The Office. And Father Ted. And Spaced. And Black books. And the Royle Family. And.....

 

I hate it when people go on about American comedies being so much better than English, and why can't we produce stuff of the same quality blah blah blah.

 

Some of the US stuff is funny (not friends - thats a bag of [****!!****]) but none of it compares to anything ever done by Chris Morris, or Alan Partridge, or Father Ted or the Office....

The best comedy out of America is The Simpsons and Malcolm in the Middle is quite good as is Seinfeild, can't think of anything else though.

Has no one mentioned the wonderful 'Phoenix Nights' how good is that, the bouncy castle episode was a classic.. Glad to see Black Books mentioned, I am a big Bill Bailey fan, shame he hasn't shone as well as he should of on Buzzcocks.

 

As for the yanks, don't mind frasier, friends is mind numbing and The Simpsons is fantastic. South Park has it's moments too, 'Cartman steals the liberty bell' is probably my favourite where he tries to reverse the result of the civil war, just can be prone to the occasional 'less good' episode..

God, how could I forget Phoenix Nights! Fantastic.

 

I once saw Bill Bailey doing stand up as one half of a duo called the rubber bishops. Very funny they were too.
