GRS67
The first ball is $50 the second $80, roughly £30 &£45ish...Will the clubs be provided with balls for free, or will they have to pay, or will they not use Molten balls at all? Minerva were sponsors before dont they make balls? How long have Molten been sponsors?

GRS67
Sorry I did not realize till I posted this that the subject was being spoken about under the post about Molten. Edgware can lose at least a couple of footballs per game, kicked over the stand etc, ending up in the slikstream.

Gav, I think the clubs get about 2 or 3 free balls and then they have to pay for the rest. Yes clubs HAVE to use it for league and league cup competitions but not for others like FA Vase, FA Cup etc if my memory is correct?
GRS67
Oh ok, expensive then, I wonder how many balls clubs get through in the course of a season? I bet it's loads. I can't imagine that half a dozen balls will last more then a month or so. Do they have to buy a particular ball or anything made by the company? Oh boy those are the kind of questions a annorak would ask lol.....I better watch out.
GRS67
I bet this is what most clubs will be using...I found this online for £9.99 no doubt you would get a discount for a big order.
GRS67
This is the most expensive at just over £50, maybe for that special occasion lol
Tubbsy8
Just to clear things up it is the £55 ball "Acentic" and clubs have been given 7 balls(so I understand)for the season. If you lose, puncture or whatever the ball you must use one so have to buy them yourself!
GRS67
Whoah £55 a ball? thats a lot of money and seven wont last long. Thanks for the info. £52.98 at Newitts online.... FIFA approved match football with 'Acentec technology' which means there is no stitching and the weight of the ball does not increase in wet weather conditions. Should be a good ball for the players to use.

Rhodes
At a Middlesex League meeting I attended last Monday when Molten were dishing out their free balls the guy said that any Club's wanting additional balls can have them for £35 a piece, I assume that this also applies to the SSML and I have e-mailed him to clarify that is indeed correct. I did get the impression that Molten are giving it the hard sell and will benefit nicely from their sponsorship however there is no doubt that they are supplying a top of the range ball which will be to all our Club's benefit at the end of the day. Jonno
First impressions of the new balls from the Hoddesdon lads is that it is good quality and feels good on the foot. However, as we know with the old Minerva balls, only time will tell whether they hold up to to the winter weather and turn into puddins come February!
