Ellis Remy

A bit harsh on Patmore imo-only paid 4/5 games.

Was our hero at Shrewsbury when h led the line magnificently and scored to everyones complete ecstacy(oh those halycon conference days).

Ironically named in a conference dream team over the weekend, though admittedly past his best when signed for us;and had the good grace to admit it after a few games and retire from conference football.

But yes, Patmore was better than Ellis but WP was a professional league footballer with lots of experience.

Unfortunately, we are at rather a different level these days, and the likes of remy are stil learning their trade.Just a chance he could come good again under the right leadership/coaching and for me, certainly is Ryman quality whch in a third striker is all we can realistically expect.

I'd be more than happy with Ellis, but yes i would prefer Wayne Rooney.

As i posted before,Ellis did have the kback of scoring goals, even though his overall performance may not have been scintillating

Would love to have both, but the more i think about it, i'd rather have Ellis Remy-just think he willbe more relible nad less injury prone, will score more goals, and again-don't forget he was second top scorer last season.

Bit of a pity he left in first place, and if 'during the interview'RT can get assurances re: his commitment to the cause, under a different management, we may get something really good out of him.

But either way, we do need our third and ideally fourth striker

Talking of people who can score goals:

I see that Adolf Amoako has left Met Police recently-not sure where he has gone if anywhere?

A cheaper(possibly even quicker) version of Manny who knew how to score for Margate and bromley-a player on the way up?

And only half the size of Remy if my memory serves me well on this one.I'm sure he wasnt a TALL centre forward.

Our key strikers are DH and Pinnock surely, but they will need support/cover/tactical substitutions and as many have posted, we have probably not got the funds for better.

To me, the likes of Remy and indeed AA would be excellent in the third/fourth striker role.

Both have consistently scored goals at this level, and offer different striking options to DH and Pinnock.

In a pretty poor team, for most of last season where the midfield hardly made any opportunities for the strikers, these two still got quite a few goals between them

For anybody who wasn't at Dover, I can tell you Remy hasn't changed since he was at Gate last season. He holds up the ball but can't turn defenders.

Manny looked heavier and slower than before in my opinion. And remember he couldn't finish when he was with us before.

To be fair to both players they got no service at Dover.

The lad Wild/Wildes was great. Hope Trotty can find a place for an extra central defender.

He's not really an 'extra ' defender-Hasim, BB and PG and Yiga were all in RT original squad AFTER the glut of signings,so in theory there should be room for 2-3 relatively experienced players.

We do need that additional quality defender as RT and jD can't keep it going all season
