Released from Staines according to their forum. Apparently didnt show anything & it seems its not known which club,if any,he has moved to.A player losing his form quite rapidly it seems.

Played 1st half today, but to be fair neither him nor Manny got any service.

When ever Remy got the ball he never done anything good with the ball and looked very poor. Manny when on the ball looked a lot better then he did against Chatham.

Thinking about it, I don't recall either of their keepers having to make a save.

We only had 1 corner too.

I thought Remy did ok for us last season.

 

Offers a bit of extra height,although he was not brilliant in the air.

 

Although he was never spectacular,he did have the very very good knack however of scoring goals and being in right place at right time-hope he is perservered with.

With decent service, he could do even better

We could probably do with a big man but surely Manny has more overall talent. Yet we can probably only afford one of them. A bit of a conundrum. Remy would certainly help us to use Protheroe and Jackson's crossing ability to score goals for us.

On balance, i think i would favour Elis Remy-scores goals, and Manny is injury prone and appears to blow hot and cold.Misses too many aswell

Like most however, would like to see them both sign to really give options-would be nice to have Manny coming on with his pace after 60 minutes

Sorry Michael but whats the point in having height if you cant use it to your advantage. He should be towering over everyone & doing better in the air than he does.Last season when he was with us he was poor & though it was only 45 minutes today he was poor again.Hope we dont sign him.Money wasted i.m.o.Manny is a different kind of player & will do us good if positioned out wide to take em' on.

Agree Cookie. Can use Manny out wide or up front and with Manny in the side it gives us the option of playing Abbott in central midfield if necessary.

Not on what I saw in the first 45 minutes yesterday though to be fair no-one up front got too many chances to impress.Still on the downward curve i.m.o.Under-achieving to be more polite!
If he wasnt good enough for Staines,who i.m.o are to be the force to be reckoned with this season, in the same league as us then why,will coming here make any difference to his form.The sea air?Maybe it will but I doubt it!
If he wasnt up to it according to Staines then the same should apply here. Sorry,not my kind of player. Oh for an Alan Blackburn!

My main point on Remy is that he could score goals.

(second top goalscorer last season !!)

 

I agree that he is no Darryn Stamp, but he is Ryman quality,and others have said, maybe with beter training, the best can be broght out of him-there must be something in him-did he not command quite a large transfer fee before he went to Grays.

 

As others have said, the budget is limited,so we can't expect 'the absolute best', but we have two decent strikers in Hockton and pinnock ,and ER would provide a good third option imo.

Again, he just seems to have the knack of being in right place to score goals ,although i agree he never looks particularly brilliant.

 

I would like to see Manny aswell as a different type of payer, but again, concern there is that he appears to be 'injury/''absent'' prone.

Thats up to him but more importantly its up to Trotty.If he says he stays then so be it.Its then that the player has to make us eat our words.Like every player they should be able to take criticism in the same way that they take the praise.If he IS kept on then I for one will accept him as a Gate player & he would be given every chance from me to shine.I would think that would apply to others too. Lets face it we wouldnt have any choice in the matter.

Again let it be said we are talking on a footy forum,where people talk about form & players.We havent sent a personel letter,direct to him telling him so have we,for goodness sake.

He must surely know that his form isnt good & hasnt been for a while.I doubt we are saying anything he dosent already know about his form already.

If he is asked to stay & wants to stay, despite negatives & is willing to work hard & regain his form then he will have earned some massive praise from me.
