Dovers strengths are in their long throws & high balls,not something we are usually good at defending,though now Trotty is here it fares slightly better in that department.

The long throw was again evident & a turning point last night. Two youngsters up front with REAL pace(Oates will have his work cut out for him on Saturday).Lots of hassling on the ball.Plenty of "good" attitude.Lets hope we have some of the same. Not just for Saturday for the season.

Could be an "anti-climax" for them on Saturday after last night so might be to our advantage. This will be a stern test.One that we have greatly needed.Hopefully Trotty has a "first team",his first choices,playing together(injuries etc permitting) out there ready & willing to give a good account of themselves. The "Pride of East Kent"is, after all at stake even though it be just a friendly.

Not the end of the world if things dont go right but with the players we have,the core first teamers,we should still be able to get something out of this game,but only if they are on song.We should by now be toned up to perfection ready for the first league game next week.Hopefully they will be pumped up for this one,ready to show everyone exactly what WE are made of.Looking forward to a good game against youngsters who are at the top of their game.

But have Dover "peaked" too soon? Time will tell! We will know more about our chances of success this season after Saturdays game.A good pointer to the season for us.

Be nice to see a good contingent of Gate fans turn up for this final friendly.
