Crawley on the brink

If he didnt want to play for us then for me good riddance.I thought he was a good player when I saw him but if we werent good enough for him then his heart wasnt with us & thats what we need this season "heart". Second choice should not be good enough. There are plenty more out there that would be more than willing to play for a progressive club like ours. Its just a ceas of getting then in the first place & then convincing thenm afterwards. Sappleton wasnt convinced then so why should he be this time round. If he comes he comes but if he dosent there will be no tears from me!

Crawley bidder tables new offer

Crawley Town administrator Rob Sadler has suspended Wednesday's midday winding-up deadline.

BBC Southern Counties reports that the deadline was scrapped to allow a final bid for the club to be considered.

The Majeed family had already had two bids rejected but upped their offer to creditors to 50 pence in the pound in the final hour before the deadline.

If the club is wound up then they will lose their Conference status and must restart a minimum of two leagues below.

Even if the Maeeds bid is accepted, i think its inevitable that Crawley will go belly up sometime during the season.

I would like to see a 'second attempt' to sign Sappleton.

I disagree with you on this Cookie, as sometimes, management is about mediation and swallowing your pride, and looking at the bigger picture, rather than 'taking a stance on principle'.

Often an error in young managers in any form of business, that they manage to maneouvre themselves into a corner by initially showing their 'strength of character' by dictating what goes, when in fact, as you mature you realise that sometimes 'giving in' is not necessarily being weak.

(a bit like being married really)

The Ryman league have made noises suggesting that a reformed Crawley could follow Kingstonian's precedent of four or five years ago where Kingstonian had problems and started their Ryman league season six weeks late and caught up the fixtures. The precedent of having 23 clubs in a league due to accepting a club thrown out of the Conference after fixture publishing was set by Barrow also around five years ago. The Unibond league had to accomodate the extra club that season. I think they could reform back in the Ryman this season if they hurry up. Someone at Crawley needs to bite the bullet and start again at this level (or Ryman 1) if they want to have a decent future.
