Why is it that Sammy is on the bench only coming on late in games? This happened too many times last season. Surely we need him to start, Davies is too predictable and clumsy, only a small improvement on Deaner. We need Sammy's pace and directness he scares the life out of defenders, when he came on Wealdstone defended deeper, giving the likes of Gilkes more room to run at their defence resulting in the cross for the goal. I though that Tony Boot had a decent game with little support.

One other question how is it that Wilkinson is always selected in front of Metcalf and Rainford? Wilkinson gives away too many unnecessary freekicks, cannot get of the floor to head the ball, cannot tackle properly, has little vision and only hooks or hoofs the ball forward. Metcalf has the ability to link the play between defence and attack by passing the ball acurately on the floor. He also encourages the team by talking too the others.

McCann is making too many mistakes, did we really need him back. We already had to capable keepers. The squad is now too large, how many centre backs do we need? The wage bill must be huge.

It appears that Browne does not know his best eleven, being spoilt for choice. Wealdstone appear to have a settled side (no changes to the programme) they have a good proven manager in Gordon Bartlett and seem to be going in the right direction. Browne is still tinkering with the team with nil tactics. Will it all end in tears?

A couple of pointers regarding the above (Not poking holes in your post Dick, just stating some facts that some may not be aware of)

Team selection last night was made by Eddie Denton as Steve Browne is off for two weeks recovering from flu, so it would appear he is making the same mistakes as Browne. Interesting to see little instruction or passion coming from the bench still though.

Metcalf should be starting ahead of either Wilkinson/Spencer/Williams as he's now the best midfielder we have.

Zepherin deserves his chance back between the sticks again. Thought it was a bit harsh to drop him originally.

As for the wage bill, it is not the biggest in the league or even second biggest if given rumours about others wage bills are believed.

I agree with comments about Metcalf - however, why does The manager require a two week break following a bout of flu? He knows only too well that it is make or break time for the Club over the next few games which are coming thick and fast - does Eddie have a free hand in picking the side?? The wage bill must be pretty high even if it is not the highest in the League - far too many players at present but still lacking players with flair and creation.

sorry but I don't think McCann should be dropped for Zeph. From the two recent games I've seen, vs Berko and Wealdstone last night, Gary kept us in the game with blinding saves. He's not as dodgy as Zeph with his kicking either.

Last night he gave the goal away!! Matt, did you see the Frog at the beginning of the season? he was superb! Yet McCann walks straight into the first team. One other thing, Chris said that against Berko McCann had the flu? so why didn't Zeph start????????

Last night he was unlucky. Don't forget that lightning save to his right that kept us at 0-1. I'm not saying Zeph is no good, but why drop McCann when right now what we need is consistency?

Gary's made one mistake against Hemel. Remember the saves he made when we were 2-0 behind against Berkhamstead and the one against Wealdstone. Those saves kept us in the game.

As i've said in a previous post I don't think he should be dropped as I do not think it was his fault on Saturday - it was the wall's. Dom was dropped because he was poor at Lewes, for no other reason.

I understand that Adrian Blake is doing well at Maidenhead though - so I wonder if he will come back in?
