This was the first time i had seen the Gaate since the Millwall game, i was impressed. Though we were a team without a striker( congratulations Mr& Mrs Hockton) so chances first half were scarce.

I was impressed with the fitness levels, how they played until the final whistle, how the youngsters have come on and their confidence has grown.

What a breath of fresh air after last seasons start.

There was a good mixture of experience and youthful pace out there. The boy heath came on late to take RT's place while RT dropped into the left back spot. I thought he coped well in the time he had, also the youngster who played left back originally grew into it as the game went on.

If Sessay is trialing with Blackpool, good luck to the lad.

Disappointed with the crowd numbers though.

Maskell more people turned up then what i thought would last night. I was happy with our performance yesterday more so with the second half then the first. Our problems in the first half was that we were giving the ball away far to cheaply and was not holding up the play and was rushing balls forward, the final ball i thought was poor throughout most of the first half. However these problems were sorted out at half time and we kept the ball well and created some good chances. The defence was solid through out the game and overall a very progressive friendly match.

I think people are being too pessimistic about the attendances. Before our rise we would be lucky to get that at a league match. I never attend friendlies as I think they are over priced and because of the travelling involved. I suspect a lot of other people feel the same way. Some people may say that you should support the team at every match, but I would rather save the money to attend proper matches. (it always goes down well the misses as well) However I will make a special effort to get to the first match of the season and the first home match.
