A very good point!! How he could have moved his hand out the way with the ball travelling at the speed of light 2 yards from him is a joke.

 

Great hat-trick, not the prettiest but a hat-trick will give him the world of confidence. The good thing is we're scoring goals at the moment, from a variety of positions. We've just got to sort the back 4 out and i'll think we'll do well.

I think after 5 games we can start to see how our team will line-up next season, from what i`ve seen so far my starting X1 for Flackwell Heath would be

Colin Wall did look very rusty, has he not been playing for any club? A fit Colin Wall will no doubt be a regular in the side.

Benny i`m suprised there is no room for either West or Bourne in your starting line-up. I think West has been excellent in our games although he needs to be a bit more physical.

Canveyboy18 i can`t see Stuart Batch keeping Dobbo out of the starting X1

Ronin, my reasons behind leaving out West and Bourne are simple really. when i compare Bourne to Holmes, Holmes always makes things look easy. This is because he seems to play the easy ball every time and doesnt complicate things whereas Bourne always seems to. If Bourne could cut out the fancy flicks and cruyff turns i'm sure he's get in my line-up. The same applies to West really, too many silly mistakes along with too many long balls. A centre half defends, and has to do the ugly things. he got caught out 3 or 4 times Saturday through not defending properly and not doing the simple things. i suppose it will come with experience and i'm sure he'll learn.

 

Canveyboy18, to say batch would play instead of Dobbo is a personal opinion. Personally, and i think 99% of all Canvey supporters would prefer Dobbo. He's naturally a holding midfield player so i'm not sure where your arguement lies plus he's more experienced and a lot better player. I'm not putting Batch down, just telling it how it is. Dobbo will be one of the more important players this year and his experience in the middle will more often than not win us games.

Some good points there Benny but i will stick with my selection. I feel West is sure to start the season as i can`t see any chance of Wall being match fit unless he`s being jogging around Ibiza while on his hols <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

haha, fair point. Sometimes he looks a good prospect but then lets himself down but i suppose he'll learn, especially if he comes up against Greggors this year. The starting 11 looks more than capable at the moment but if we get a few injuries, i'm not sure the some of the squad players are good enough. Hopefully they'll prove me wrong but i'll reserve judgement!

He'd start for me every time but needs to get fit. Will probably be captian this year, either him, Krayling or Dobbo
