Who do ya fancy at this stage?

To win the Ryman Premier league 2006/7.

I know its only been friendlies but who has impressed you so far just by results & hearsay of signings. Obviously apart from yesterday Margate have every chance on form shown from before yesterdays match.I am sure that form will return. Some excellent players coming in we have every chance this season to step up.

Two other clubs stand out for me in the run-up to the first game.Whether they will end up near the top or not is another matter.

1) STAINES Have bought well, pumped some money in & have secured some good results against some decent sides. Are showing consistency.

2) RAMSGATE. I know this may not go down well with some but seeing things for what they are,at this juncture, their friendly results show them to be doing exactly what they did last year. Not many new signings but still a youthful squad with good attitude. It remains to be seen if their style of football can see them win honours this year but as of now they have impressed me (have seen them 3 times when I was bored with nothing else to do.)with their never-say-die attitude, fitness levels & consistent results.(Another new signature for you FF to take the place of that boring old one!)

At this stage of the season I would tip "STAINES TOWN" to be champions.

Things change obviously throughout the season so my opinion may change as the season goes on.But as of now apart from us its STAINES for me.

Both Hampton & Staines look to be building and have had good preseasons so far. They will be right up there this year. Have heard that Hendon have looked surprisingly good in preseason so they could cause some shocks. Ramsgate aren't expected to go down and I wouldnt think they will. We will have to see how they do. Bad results early on and the pressure is on them.

My title tip would be AFC Wimbledon.

Cookie I have made a provisional booking for you at the Maudsley Hospital in Dulwich on Wednesday.

You obviously need it having tipped Deadwood for the title.

PS it is not to far a walk to see Fisher or catch the bus to see my tip for the title Bromley.

How can you be tipping Staines when I am expecting S-C-S to be keeping clean sheets! Can't have Staines and clean sheets! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" />

I think it is wide open-anyone from 10 or 11 teams.

Having said that, i go with cookie and also reckon Staines are marginal favs.

Ramsgate will do ok, but finish about 12th i reckon. At this level , a good big one will always beat a good little'un, and Ramsgate appears to be a team of giants, which will be enough to see them comfortable.

Of the kent teams, Bromley should do well and Folkestone may be dark horses as they have some continuity from last season.

Overall, its frightenly open imo

It is a given that we will, of course, be Champions. If not Champions then at least in the top 22!

My "dark horse" for the run in are Bromley, not as Champions, but they could sneak into the play-off spots.

Rob - A fair enough comment but money isn't everything. You and the Rams will surely appreciate that what often counts is a good team spirit. You can buy who you like but if they don't gell then it is money down the drain.

Bromley have looked a useful outfit for a while but I still don't think they will be outright Champs.
