Society Board Elections

Recommended Posts

The match programme yesterday highlighted the need for Town fans to renew their Society memberships with the Membership Secretary Phil Rice and put themselves up for the Society Board. Most of the Board have been on since 2001 and it really would be good to give the Board a refresh, a bit like the first team! So if you have business skills including legal and financial and are willing to be more than an armchair supporter towen needs to build business plans for conference level and above. Remember they are your Board.

The Annual pattern of Board Elections can be expected to change with the passing of future proposed amendments to the constitution.

to be fair I think the current board are doing an excellent job...

yeah so do I <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

but we do have vacancies and fresh blood and new ideas in any organisation are always good

But you have to be a member to stand and you have to be a member to vote, currently we have a lot of people who need to renew, SOON, in order to do either.

So how many vacancies are there and when is the closing date for people to register their intention to stand? I believe it was early September last year? Only asking as I was not at the game and did not get a programme with all the details.

Well assuming new AGM venue has been arranged by current secretary AGM was scheduled to be Next AGM Thursday 26th October 2006. So basically take use last years dates minus 1 day!

Thanks for the vote of confidence LS.

I had thought of putting myself up for election however I live at least 45 minutes from the ground and would find it difficult to make regular meetings. I also think that if a board member I should be prepared to get up on Sunday and help at the ground, take down nets or help in the shop. On a match day I would rather watch the match then feel obligated to the fans.

Can we nominate people?

It would be interesting if someone nominated you LS. I would be intrigued to see who you are. I read your posts with interest and I have actually agreed with you on a couple of occasions!

I'd nominate LS if he'd agree to stand.
