Richard Stokes letter in the Observer

Dear All, Lets get this story Straight -

about 18 months ago ..Richard Stokes called our Trusts chairman Mike Lightfoot and repeated all what had gone on before, how he had given us 3 options for survival ..the same 3 he gave us 3 years back ...He said we should call his personal secretary and arrange a meeting ..therefore no need to send a letter ! Mike tried on more than a dozen times , leaving messages and asking her to ring back, Richard Stokes would not do this himself !

At a Slough Council road show I bump into Cheryl Coppell and ask he to arrange a meeting with the sitting council on our plight ...she promised she would call me back in one week , nothing heard !

At the recent council elections we were approached by Cllr Hewitt who came especially to see us after the count and said its about time we get around a table and sort this out ! and will be in touch...still waiting

Cllr David MacIssac's scribbled note to us , saying he would be happy for us to get back together hinting he would help us to do this, then 2 days later telling me that as he is not on the cabinet he could not do anything for us...

sighting a meeting by sending the cabinet an agenda with who will be attending and not to include any one that would be seeking trouble ?

what an ultimatum !

They are in power. they know our cause , they are the ones that can help , yet put up all kinds of blocks in actually doing something to help ?

or arranging a proper meeting to actually starting to help us...

So we as the supporters Trust will be putting together a presentation and our furture and why help should be given ..(to all councillors) so we will be seen to be fair across the board...

Yet I said this to cllr Mac Issac and already he told me that this will not work..again another brick wall , before we have made a fair and un bias presentation....

so you can see what we are up against...

they really have no intention to help us or meet us.....OR LISTERN TO US....

well next May we will have to see what we will do on the election front...

cheers chris sliski secretary STST

So in the mean time before May will more attempts be made to contact Stokes or will it be left for councillors to get in contact with us? The 2nd option obviously hasnt worked so other options should be taken.

Ah right, I miss read your original post Chris, thinking that because Cllr Issac said the presentation wouldnt work that it wouldnt be going ahead.

Providing all the councillors attend I think the presentation will be a good idea.

as much as i think its a good idea, it could bring out more lies against us if the people there disagree with our claims, good luck to those arranging it though.

are you a moron or just mentally challenged? The whole point of a presentation is to put points across and then discuss them with the appropriate parties so disagreement is encouraged so a compromise and eventual solution can be reached. Seriously, learn to think before opening your mouth

was just thinking about the times when we were reading an arguement between an stfc fan and a badly informed councillor in the express...if stokes has continued to spread the lies about us that we have seen before, then there could be a lot of councillors there to disagree with what we say.

May I suggestinstead of "lies about us",the term "MIS INFORMATION",would be more appropiate when dealing with senior(?) council officials.Words can be very powerful tools,so use them to our best advantage.
