It says that Pat Gradley has been released and that we are still looking for another goalkeeper (besides S C-S who is now signed as reported elsewhere). Charli's injury appears to be static but, he may still be the other keeper. Trotty is also impressed with Louis Smith, Danny Wisker and Arron Robinson and, they may also be signed.

Is there nothing about the ground in there Joseba? I was promised something by the Chairman after a meeting supposedly having taken place on Monday with the council & him. I will be most annoyed if his "promise" hasnt been kept to me.I thouroughly dislike broken promises.Nothing was given on the website so I was hoping there would be something "positive" in todays paper, hence me holding back.If there isnt then I shall be taking this up with him personnally.

AS for the other news that you have just higghlighted,I wont lie & say Gradley will be a loss because I didnt rate him as highly as others did.Good to see the youngsters being taken into consideration.

Ok Tony, cant see anything at first glance though! Shame about Pat but looks like he wants to find a regular first team place somewhere.

Paper also says that Sappleton has rejected a move to Margate in favour of a full time position with Crawley. Also Trotty wants another look at Manny Omiyinmi but is not pursuing Ezeke Silva. He also likes Robinson a lot & feels he could do a job up front

Seems Crawley are in deep [****!!****] again, mainly because their owners (those brothers again)keeping hold of the club after all.I cant see any logic in going to that club in the state its in. Still, his choice! I would have thought it would be better to go to a club on the rise rather than the opposite.

His loss & ours possibly too.Maybe another star-gazer like Nichols in which case it be better to know that now rather than later on. I thought he was a decent player from what I saw of him. Shame, but there you go!

Shame about Pat always rated him but i can understand him looking else where would have been extremly hard for him to get in the 1st team.

As for manny the guy is a waste of time bags full of pace but his end product is very bad, i know there is gonna be replys like yeah but what about that goal he scored bla bla bla but what about all the wasted chances, we use to complain about Rocky but this guy was even worse + how much would he want to sign on with us.

Now Robins0n along with Wisker, Williams & Smith have impresed me alot and they really do deserve a chance this season.

I do agree with you in a way Dave, but i would have Manny playing further out wide to create some chance rather than have to finish them himself. He's not the greatest of finishers but is worth another look at just for his blistering pace and the ability to make things happen.

Agree with you there Mark entirely. In this type of football he will be a major asset I feel. Needs to get fit though. His pace will scare the life out of oppositions. Its not about his scoring that excites me its,as you say,the assists that he can give Danny & James & the others.Thats what he's about. Jacko on one wing & he on the other wing. Recipe for success. Whoosh! But will Trotty want a formation of that sort?

Enjoy your time there, short time there,Sappleton. (Sorry for the fans though).Am sure they will pull things round.

Creditors have rejected the CVA.

The only possible 'saviour' a diamond merchant has withdrawn his interest. No other outside interested parties have thrown their hats into the ring.

The only interest in the club is from the brothers who got them into the financial mire in the first place.

If the Administrator does not receive an acceptable offer it could be the end of Crawley.

The penalty of 10 points plus the restrictions on signing new players does not bode well for the club.

This late in the day it would be to late to reform and find a league prepared to take them.

I assume that in the event they drop out of the Conference the leagues will not move clubs around to replace them

Bit of a mixed news day then.

Delighted with SCS signing, and pleased for the younger players.

Is Luke Williams mentioned as from what i saw, he was pick of the crop.

Do have a concern that squad is a bit thin all of a sudden-Gradley,Yiga,Brayley and Deen not really replaced.

Gradley will be quite a loss imo.

Maybe the 'Gravesend Three' were ahead of him in pecking order, but an injury and suspension in midfield, and all of a sudden we do not look so clever.

The younger players all look ok for 45 mins in the July sun, but its a bit different on a wet and cold November night when a seasoned pro is kicking five lumps out of you,and the likes of George Borg are threatening you from the touchline.

We need a bit more known quality imo, and hope that RT can certainly get a good striker and Defender signed up a bit quick.

As Cookie says, Sappleton must be mad.HMRC are likely to reject the offer, and even if they do, it looks distinctly possible that the conference will throw them out next thursday.

I'm fine with the decision to release Gradley. Admit that I was susprised that he was initially kept on and invited back. Had concerns over his fitness and not sure that he is good enough for a team that is pushing for promotion out of this league.

Squad looks a bit thin as it stands though. Would hope to see a couple of new trialists tomorrow. Maybe RT has a plan to use Paul Abbott as central midfield cover when needed (although he is in my opinion first choice on the right wing) as we have Osman Sesay and Aaron Robinson who can play on the wings. If we sign Manny as I hope then he can also play out there on the right. Signing Manny would along with getting in a sub goalkeeper be my priority. That would leave a good headache of deciding who to play alongside Hockton.

Pat Gradley is one of my favourite players, not only because he is a very skilful midfielder, but also he is one of the nicest lads I have ever met. He always has time for the fans, and is always pleasant and cheerful, and obviously well-liked within the squad.

I regard this news with regret, it is a shame I will not see him in a Margate shirt again this season, and I wish him all the very best for his future. I am sure he will not be very long without a club, and I am sure he will do well wherever he goes.

My take is that Pat would not have been first choice - McKimm probably ahead of him. I agree with the view that Pat was an underated player but if you dig back into one of the interviews I did with RT, there may be the basis of an explanation for the decision. On the plus side, that does of course release some budget for another signing. Let's not forget that a lot of what has been going on is get a side together, then make improvements where possible and balance the books. The approach the club has taken is spot on in my view. Good luck Pat, but let's make ready for another new signing: a striker or central defender maybe?
