Celebrity Love Island [No. 136]

I caught a few minutes of last night's episode of this rivetting docu-drama and I was intrigued at a new arrival to the place.

 

There's a chap called 'Abse', I believe. An Afro-American from his accent, possibly from the Lower East Side of New York with ancestors from Jamaica or one of the islands of the West Indies in any event. Remarkably similar accent and diction to that chap who impersonates bros - Ali G/Sacha Cohen or whatever his name is/are.

 

The disease/condition that is alleged to have affected Michael Jackson appears to have been contracted by this chap too, as he isn't isn't black. That's 'Abse', not Ali G. More grey in an unwashed sort of way.

 

Does anyone know this chaps 'claim to fame'?

I believe he is or was a member of the popular beat-combo known as 'five'.

 

Interesting to see they've dropped the 'Celebrity' from the title, wonder if someone complained?

Wasn't that the band where one of 'em came from Sandridge? Local lad etc.?

 

Did they break up because poor old Abse developed Schizophrenia, with one part of his psyche believing himself to be a Bro? Perhaps they should have ignored him when he broke into that phoney street talk stuff. Strange chap.
