Let's have a joint celebration dinner with ETFC fans celebrating the successes of EFC from the past and the EFC supporters celebrating the successes of ETFC during the last five years!

Why would current EFC supports want to celebrate ETFCs success??? I cant see any reason for that.Or for ETFC fans to celebrate anything EFC have done after the split.

I can see a reason for current ETFC supporters wanting to celebrtate old EFC successes that they witnessed and were a part of.

I was just as proud to have be a EFC fan for all those years,as i am now to be a Town fan.

It's just lazy journalism isn't it. I'm not bothered by it. More annoyed that the Gazette doesn't want anything to do with the E's, so much so they'd much rather have a full page spread on another club which doesn't play in the borough and never has, one you can read about in every national Sunday paper. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/angry.gif" alt="" />

I totally agree with you on that one. I do consider Town to be the leading club in the borough so they should get more column centimetres but EFC should get more as should Brimsdown and Cockfosters. There is no point in reporting on Spurs in the enfield Advertiser.

Because saracens, like EFC are an Enfield Club but groundshare out of the borough. I believe that most of the Saracens sides still play in Oakwood. It is just the first team that has to play elsewhere due to there not being a big enough ground in the borough.

I agree with you the local paper for local teams.

I get annoyed by the gazette and stopped buying it for about a year or so now. I can understand the Anti lazarou feeling but it does seem this paper and the Advertiser are biassed in its reporting. And I am a spurs fan and fully agree with the comment that you can read about spurs in the nationals. It will be interesting to see if Towns reserve side get a wodge of coverage ,Spurs neighbors I believe.

So does that they shouldn't cover a team from the borough that carries the borough's name because they play out of the borough?

as i live an hour away from enfield, can you get the gazette posted to you?

I live rather more than an hour away from Enfield. I used to get the Gazette to post a copy each week to me, but as we are living in the Internet Age, and have such good club web-sites, I decided some years ago not to renew my subscription.

ETFC will always be associated with the old EFC.There is a direct lineage.ETFC was set up by EFC supporters for god sake.

Lets never forget that,or deny our history as past EFC supports.I want to be associated and proud of everything EFC did from 1893 to 2000.Its only the EFC after the split, than i have no feeling or association with.Lets not forget that the vast majority of Town fans supported EFC for a LOT longer than they have currently supported ETFC.That will hopefully change as Town go from success to success in the next 20-30 years, but at the moment, most of all of our personal football 'history' has happened under the banner of Enfield Football club.

I take it as a compliment when people associate Enfield Town with being the same club as the old Enfield Fc.Lets not get the current EFC set-up confused with real EFC before the split.Everyone i know in the area of Enfield considers and talks about ETFC as if its the same club as the old one we were all watching in previous decades.Surely thats why we created ETFC .In order to preserve and continue what we had at Enfield Fc.

So yes, Enfield Town has created its own traditions and history. It is a seperate and unique club, where new fans are as welcome as old EFC fans,BUT that doesn't mean our club and its formation, isn't associated with original Enfield. fc.
I dont see that you have any lineage to E F C ,You gave that up the day you set up your own club ,you say your a unique club and your not as there are several fans owned clubs about now. You talk of future success but winning a few essex senior league trophies is nothing to what lies ahead ,I cant see that you'll go much furthur . you are not on the same scale as wimbledon , F C united , and Hornchurch and canvey are bigger clubs , I just dont see how much furthur you can take your club without a financial investor on board.

We were the FIRST 'supporters run' non-league club. That IS unique, and it paved the way for the rest. You say Town won't go any futher.I would worry about your own clubs future, rather than ours.

PS...Talking of lineage and history.I believe YOU gave up that right, when you ignored a free vote by your fellow Enfield fc fans, to try to save football in the borough. Come back to me when you have watched as many EFC games as i have.

PPS...Sorry if this is boring everyone.I never bring up this subject myself. But i reserve the right to respond when someone else raises the debate.
