Old Tricks......

Recommended Posts

See Mr Cross is up to his old tricks again, letting us what he calls smaller clubs train players to a decent level then sneakily signs them up behind your back before you can do anything about it. The latest casualty is Bowers & Pitsea who have had a boy on the left Harry Stevens, been to all pre season training, played in 99% of the games and then Crossy promises him something he aint never gonna get and off he goes. How many of you clubs have had the crossy treatment. Is he incapable of finding and toning a player himself. This is a disgraceful act by a supposidly top team but they get away with it every year.

And as for his smart mouthed spikey haired kid, the only reason you get a game son is because your dad is the manager, how many clubs you played at that didnt have your old man in charge ?? Answer - None.Next time you want to say something say it yourself dont get a mate to do it from 50 yards away.

you talking about Tony cross there ?? dont be so bitter talede old son . was this player under contract - no - then he is free to do what he likes whenever he wants and crossy hasnt gotta come through anyone else other than the player . get real mate , it happens at every club to thousands of players up and down the country , stop getting the ache just because someone has left !! fcking hell , we lost about 6 boys to maldon , some of them didnt even ring the gaffer to tell them they were leaving , but what can you do - s*it happens get on with it .

it is part and parcel of the game so no bad feelings.just wish the boy all the best and bring a youth team player through to replace him.players and managers come and go and the club will still be there.we had jack o'connor that joined tilbury in pre-season and i hope someone will get the best out of him.a decent player but a bit laid back:his work rate has to be improved and sometimes a kick up his backside could help..would have struggled to get in the side with his attitude towards the game and ....all the best jack.

At least he went upwards (in terms of the pyramid) and not sideways. I understand he has actually signed ESL forms for B&P. That could be interesting if the two teams meet in a cup. ETT for example.

It's always a shame to lose a good player, all you can do is suck it in, wish him well (through gritted teeth) and carry on.

Talede I'm with you on this one. Crossy is a mug and approached one of our players in the bar after a game. Then when we confronted him, like usual, he s**t himself. I can't stand the guy and its true players can come and go if they are not under contract BUT some people have no class and do what they want.

I'm not defending TC here (He's big and ugly enough to do that for himself) but doesn't some of the onus lie with the players. Clubs shouldn't have to find out a player has left to join another, by turning up to watch a game only to find one of your "signed" players playing for another club? As happened last night.

Just a thought!!!

I cannot believe this thread... I saw it on Bowers Forum as well, as Talede seems to double post everything... Why?!

Talede, are you really saying you would denying a player an opportunity to play @ a higher level?! Sheesh...

The player is not under contract, so he can do what he likes. If he doesnt contact you, then you need to take that up with him...

It happens with a lot of players throughout not having the decency to let managers know what they are doing...

I know for sure, that I would always be honest with any manager about my where-abouts. If anyone, thinks different then let me know!

I hope the kid does well @ Tilbury, and im sure he will be looked after... Hi Hunty

Coachie - I cannot believe Jack has gone to Tilbury now... He was playing in Maldon Reserves two seasons ago. Shocking...

I think from the reation of most people on the forum. Talede1 your point is not really a point.

Pre season is about players moving to a club that they want to play for. It is a sad day if you cant except that the young lad wants to step up and play at the next level and you are getting on your high horse about it. END OF SUBJECT NO MORE POSTS NEEDED. You never stole a player!!!!!

kaiser, technically jack is a decent player and i'm pleased he moved up a division.if he would have stayed with us he might have found not motivating enough in the esl but also hard to get a regular place.so he's gonna get some expenses paid and the chance to play at higher level.he is down to him to grab the chance:if he fails, well,a premier side in the sunday league might go for him.wake up son and show more passion and anger(football talking)

Its a shame, he is a good player Coach. Was always one of the better players playing for Maldon ressies...

He has always seemed laid back, so I can understand that.

I am motivated for every game play...

Whether it be ESL, Sunday League, kick-about with mates, or a game of Championship Manager!!!

I will need to be motivated against AC Hullbridge, as im sure you will put some pacy winger against me...

(As obviously I am the weak link in the Burnham side )

Hi Danny, when i went to hulbridge,Jack was just going through the motions and not showing a lot of his potential.i'm pleased that he played all the pre-season friendlies but i wouldn't take any notice of them.it's when you play for the 3 points and the chips are down that you see the real players.if i was you i would wait 3 months into the season to have a better picture about the player who we know well at hullbridge(bad and good things).i'll be the first one to compliment your lot if he establishes himself as a regular at tilbury.time will tell but [****!!****] hell, you must have a weak side if one of our subs gets a place in your squad
