Canvey Island 1-1 Slade Green

I thought it was another good game yesterday which if we had taken our chances would have seen us win by at least 2 clear goals. Plenty of quick pass and move football which is always good to see and i`ve been really impressed by the work-rate of the players.

 

Slade Green took their goal well but didn`t really cause us too many problems after that. Curran finished a very good move to score his goal but i`m sure he will feel he should have scored earlier in the game but the fact he is getting chances every game is very encouraging.

 

Another very good attendance which will hopefully double on Monday.

Jay has really impressed me this pre season. His work rate is phenomenal and OK he missed quite a few chances but was still confident enough to get into the positions. His finish for the equaliser was quality.

 

Ryan Edgar just gets better and better and will be a star next season if he plays like that.

 

Thought Danny Lamb had a good game yesterday. A bit shaky to start with but improved as the game wore on.

I thought Edgar was quality. Really enjoyed watching him yesterday.

Overall, I think we played well, but our crossing and set-pieces were weak at times. However, I won't worry about that unless it remains the case during the league season.

 

I am glad that the crowd is so warm to these players and that everything they did was appreciated and well-recieved. I hope it continues through the season.

 

A good attendance, but looking at it, I thought that it was lower than the Sevenoaks match. Should hopefully hit the 500 mark for Southend tomorrow. Can't wait.

Am pleased that you enjoyed playing against slade Green, A good friend of mine owns the club and lives for the club, They are all non pro,s so I think they do very well for themselves
