Another very good display, Jimmy jackson & Skinner down the left stood out for me they were both very impresive in there link up.

The teams vision and scope of there passing is a joy to watch, something that i have never expected to watch at HDP from the home team, i know its only pre season friendly's against a poor Ashford team but the abillty of this squad's players is superb and will surely improve as the season progreses.

All the young players that came in to the team in the second half looked very comftable and will be a real asset for the coming season, in fact i would have loved to of seen them last season they look a good bunch.

Another excellent display by the lads. Lost it a bit when the youngsters came on,let Ashford into it more but all youngsters did well too. Generally a bit of a stroll today. Ashford not the hardest of fixtures & we really need some decent opposition similar to Fisher to really get a truer picture.Still, a few away games coming up so that will stretch us a little further we hope. Goals all taken well. Chalmers-Smith in goal after Nicolls decided to go to Fisher for £10,000 with a weekly wage of £800,so it was mentioned everywhere. Chalmers-Smith a more than adequate keeper & will do us proud if he signs. One fabulous save but apart from that did absolutely nothing wrong though he wasnt tested that much today.

Absolutely agree about Jackson & Skinner. A joy to watch & they really do compliment each other.

Standen replaced Skinner at full back & played some good balls out to Jackson too. Protheroe ran the midfield & is proving a popular captain & doing a captains job well. Excellent.

Team is shaping up well.Still early days but good progress is being made. A good effort with a very disappointing crowd of 266.

Graham Porter was at the game. Is extremely interested in playing for us but will he fit into Trottys plans? Something tells me he wont.No approach been made yet by the player it seems but good to hear that he thinks we have a good enough squad this year to want to come back & be a part of it.Some may say he's over the top but he does have undoubted experience but whether anything comes of him who knows.Maybe some will say "lets not go backwards",maybe they are right.Would be nice to have him as an option though I would have thought.

Would love to see Ports back in a Margate shirt. He's got the ability and if he's clear of his injury and wants to be here then it makes sense. Great to see him back at Hartsdown.

Another good performance and an easy win. We had so many good chances. So much class in this team. Proths outstanding, Pinnock, Jackson and Skinner very good and nobody had a bad game. Good to see Oates looking a lot fitter than ever before. Something tells me the training is of a much higher standard with Flanagan and Trotty.

I agree.£5 is quite reasonable. Paying the £8 COULD I repeat COULD be keeping a few away.If the club saw sense & did this for our remaining home friendly game/s then I think the difference will be seen in attendances. Not by a lot but by enough to have it justified. It also has to be ANNOUNCED though to the public as do ALL the games. However its probably too late now to make much difference overall. Well done Ramsgate for putting their prices down to a fiver.

This should have been done at the start of preseason but its too late now I feel. I don't think it would make enough difference in the attendance for the Burgess Hill game to warrant a change. Some people just aren't interested in a friendly game even if it means they turn up for the first league game not knowing who half of the players are.

Correct GW. Like I said it would probably be too late to make an impact now. However even just for the one game it would still be welcomed I'm sure. Just so long as everyone KNOWS about both the GAME & THE CUT PRICE ADMISSION CHARGE before the game. Then that MIGHT make a difference. Somehow something tells me this wont be happening anyway.Pity as Ramsgate are not the only ones showing compassion to their supporters for friendly games.
