Already this pre-season we've drawn at Braintree Town (Conf South) and come from two down to beat Hemel (Southern Prem). Now we've beaten a Ryman Prem side. I know results are not the most important thing at this time of year, but playing above ourselves? I don't think so.
Rhodes
Well this particular game has certainly thrown up some talking points and that's my opinion for what it's worth, the impression I got was that Hendon were clearly having an off day and struggling for fitness with the campaign still some way off whereas you were a lot further forward than them and set up camp in their half in the first period. It was only when your good 'friend' Takumi came on in the second half that Hendon came back into it a little, I was actually giving you a compliment as I was impressed and feel that you could have a good solid season. neutralbob
hendon had 5 players that would start the first game of the season apparently, got a few mates down there and they said thats by far their worst performance
Rhodes
Well Rak will no doubt confirm that Hendon had an off day at Potters Bar but I certainly don't make them strong candidates for relegation, Hendon can always attract quality players if they do happen to find themselves struggling at the half way stage of the season. As I said they appeared to be lacking in the fitness department but no doubt that will be addressed in the next couple of weeks, ironically the fittest man at the Club is Takumi who, as I know from when he was at Haringey Borough, turns up for training an hour before everyone else and trains as if his life depends on it. Yes, maybe need to do a bit more short sharp stuff because I think at times it wasnt fitness that was lacking but sharpness!
