Money Making Ideas

Recommended Posts

Okay, I'll start it off if.

How about if there are no programmes tomorrow, the club runs of 100 copies of the team sheet before kick off (as soon as the teamline up is known) and sells them at 50p or £1 a go. I'd be more than willing to buy one so that I know who's who.

Easy £50 for little outlay.

or another thing which would be a good idea is using the clubhouse as a social club as well that way we would be making money from the bar & etc but will the staff be commited surely if people come then we would mak a few hundred a week so that would be a good idea & sometimes not every time kids for a quid

I work as a printer. If somebody wanted to let me know teams etc for the remaining friendly games etc. I will print team sheets free of charge and the club can sell these for 100% profit on the day/night of the games.

I'd be happy to do them for reserve games too if this was though to be a worthwhile idea.

Well in that case then is there any chance we could almost do squad numbers and print off sheets with the players name next to a number then you can look for the player with that number shirt on and you would know who it is this would be difficult to do for the opposition but we could do it from canvey

I would just make a list of all the players and leave a blank box next to them so we can write their number in when it's announced. I'm sure we can afford to bring a pen! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

I still think it's a bad idea charging people for the privelage. I'll pay, but only because I'm intent on learning as many names as possible before the season kicks off. How many of the day-trippers will buy them though?

Are we going to be producing a full programme once the league gets underway?

I think we need to be careful, we not should assume people will pay for anything such as team lists etc. We need to give fans and potential fans value for money and make them feel that they are getting something for their money. Is there a group looking at money raising ideas? I assume if there is, Keith is involved. Is there a process for putting ideas into the club? I also don't think we should try to re-invent the wheel as there are lots of ideas and schemes on other clubs sites that are tried and tested that we could use. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I am happy to produce team sheet style programmes for the club for the game against Biggleswade Town on Saturday and also if the club has nothing special planned for the Spurs game next Monday (though a properly produced souvenier programme would sell well on the night for sure) do something similar for that.

There will be no cost whatsoever to Canvey and these can either be sold on the night (50p whatever?) or given away free at the turnstiles.

They would be printed on top A4 quality paper or card and Canvey fixtures on the back so that thereafter this could be used to display as a fixture card.

I will be happy to do this for the club and as I say, it will not cost CIFC a penny.

If Wayne, Glen or somebody in authority at the club wants to PM or e mail me saying they want me to do this, I will be happy to start the ball rolling from there.

As I haven't heard from anybody about this that the club will not be interested in taking up my offer regarding team sheets/programmes for this Saturday and the Spurs game? <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

I'll take that as a definate no then. Oh well, at least I offered... <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

It's not really feasible to produce team sheets as they would not include a "team", just a list of names. Also, as soon as you put numbers to names and sell the sheets, people will expect the players to wear the corresponding numbers, something that cannot always happen.

However, I would like to talk to you about some other potential printing work. Will you be attending Saturday's match?

Leyton O on the lookout

Leyton Orient FC's talent scouts were on the lookout for the next Wayne Rooney in Stoke Newington this week, as part of the Clissold Centre of Excellence Positive Activities for Young People (PAYP) programme.

Coaches from the first division club have been training young people under the beating sun this week, but the young footballers showed no signs of tiring. Darrel Bartley, a coach from the Leyton team, said: "I'm impressed by what I've seen. There's a lot of talent here and I expect we'll bring a couple of the guys for a trial at Leyton. But it's about teaching young people to stay healthy in an interactive way as well."

The footballers practised shooting and dribbling and played short matches in between drink breaks. It was just the tip of the iceberg at the centre though. For the next 5 weeks, young people will be able to take part in a range of summer activities including weight training, table tennis, badminton, DJing, music workshops, film making, drama, dance and cultural arts activities. This week the centre is also running a sports leadership award.

It's not all hectic either, for young people who want to relax in a positive environment, the centre also offers opportunities to hang out or play computer games. Apart from the summer programme, the youth centre runs sessions during term-time on Mondays and Wednesdays.

The PAYP scheme in Clissold is a partnership between Hackney Council's Youth Service, Connexions East and Leyton Orient Community Sports Programme. To find out more, contact the centre on 0207 254 3498.

Here is where money is made!!!
