GRS67
In a lively and highly entertaining friendly on Tuesday night Harrow Borough narrowly defeated the Wares 1 - 0. Over 100 spectators. including Spurs, Newcastle and England striker Les Ferdinand, who's son is a trialist with Borough, were entertained to some thrilling football. A bizarre 10th minute own goal was all that separated the two sides, but their should have been many more goals in what was a very close contest. Edgware new boy Ben Haden smacked the Harrow woodwork with a rasping 20 yarder with keeper Keiron Jimmy beaten while Boroughs Martin Grant clipped an upright with a low angled effort after a tantalising run. Edgware's joint managers Steve Newing and Del Deanus had every right to be pleased with the efforts of their charges on the night. Of the 20 players they used Richard Morton and Steve Brady were notably outstanding as was newcomer Carl McClusky. However, the significant efforts of all those in action will make life difficult for the management duo when they come to whittle the numbers down for the final squad. Edgware now look forward to entertaining Wingate & Finchley on Saturday .... Top three finnish has to be the aim and I think we can do it. I will let you know more after I have seen the new players in action tomorrow.

PB!
Carl McCluskey, used to play with him at Uxbridge. Not a bad player, smash him early on and he goes hiding, technically excellent though.
GRS67
Nice one bob, I found odds for teams from step 1-3, but nothing lower. Bob, who do you predict will be the top three?. Having not seen any of the spartan sides before, I can only go by the teams who were in the Ryman 2 last season. I think Hertford will do well, and Chalfont should be up there, but it all depends on how those sides have added to their squads. I really think Edgware will be going for it this season. Last season Rory Smith our captin said next (this) season will be the one when they go for it. Last season was one of consolidation, and it was a brand new squad. Now the squad have had one season togther and came 7th in a strong ryman 2. I really think anything other then top three will do.

GRS67
V&E is Broxbourne, so that makes four teams lol. I will take second place right now, but once I see the teams in action I will have a better idea.
PB!
Harefield are my faves to win it this year. Will score lots of goals just whether they tighten up at back. Edgware I wasnt overly impressed with last year but will no doubt be top 5. Chalfont possibly top 3.
Krooner
Chalfont Top 3. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> Thought you knew something about football.
GRS67
Edgware I wasnt overly impressed with last year but will no doubt be top 5. ... We were too inconsistent last season, this time round I expect us to be up for it from the start and I really do think we can be top three if not better. I could not make it for the Harrow game, was there really a large crowd there? I am going to be there tomorrow so will say hello to you. Is Stuart's twin going to be playing this season? Any news on any new players or any departing? I heard its mostly the same squad as last season. I will have to ask your dad if I can get a ride to away games, I want to try and make most games this season. That reminids me, I must get a new air horn !!!!!!! I think you are mistaken bob, and the results speak for themselves, a 1-1 draw at home, where we played you off the park in the second half, and 2-1 win at your place. NeutralFan
I really can't see how you can justify your predictions when you know nothing about the sides you're going to be coming up against (ex Ryman 2 sides excepted) Shall I do the league position prediction league again?
