Much as it pains me to say, I actually agree with MFM's actions on this one. Most of you know that I am fairly right wing in my views but Israel has broken more UN resolutions than any other country and consistantly gets away with it. Why? Because the US politicians know that to win power they need the Jewish vote. Israel was formed when the Western allies decided that the Jews shoulc have their own homeland and decided that a certain area called Palestine was uninhabited. ACtually, it was inhabited because the Palestinians were there. Since then Israel has constanlty encroached onto neighbouring countrys' territories and has persecuted the Palestinians as well as treating their own Arab citizens pretty poorly. Their actions in Lebanon are WAY to extreeme. I do not advocate the removal of the state of Israel now but much more policial force needs to be put on their leaders. That said, Hesbolah are also scum hiding behind innocent citizens and the states of Iran and Syria need also to have massive international pressure put on them to stop arming what are terrorists. Meanwhile, the US should not be arming Israel.

Right, rant over and I'll await the responses.

Happy. We could spend weeks argueing over this, but this is a football forum.

Whilst obviously condemning the killing of civilans on both sides,i must comment on UN resolutions. The UN and especially the security council are anti-Israeli. No question.Since the security council was set up.Israel has never been allowed a vote or to even sit on the council, whereas there is always a strong muslim representaion on the council board.Sometimes three or four at a time.SRYIA have been chairing the council, for god sake.Do you really believe that they are unbiased??? The first thing the UN security council did after less than 24 hours of existance, was issue a resolution against Isael. The security council have issued many hundreds of resolutions against Israel in the past.America and other Western countries have had to veto about 50% of those, such were there frequency and repetativness. The security council has at the same time refused to condeme or issue ANY resolution against any Muslim state-funded terrorist campaigns against Israel in that same period.

Regarding Lebonon.Israel only agreed to withdraw from Lebonon IF the UN and Lebonese army secured the border between Israel and lebonan,in order to prevent any furture terrorists attacks. Both have spectaculaly failed to do this, and they have allowed Hezbollah to regroup over the last ten years and become an ever increasing threat.Something that was proved when they started an unprovocked campaign of kidnapp and rocket attacks of Israel.

However,i do think Israels response has been reckless, over-the-top and cruel.Saying that, they are surrounded on all borders by Palastine,Syria, and Lebonon. All of which are constantly launching terrorist campaigns against them.

Bringing the thread back on topic, I was a Royalist, and although we lost the early skirmish, we cleared the Parliamentarians from the field once our reinforcements turned up.

Mrs B wasn't participating in the battle - too busy looking after the kids.
