Tell me tomorrow Potters Bar Town, see I'm getting the hang of this game now.

Hendons Claremont Road is one of the old school grounds and In my opinion has loads of character.

Do you remember the Hendon U20 v Haringey Borough U20 Middlesex County League game I saw you at a couple of season's ago? Well, Claremont Road is not in any better condition since then, although they had opened the back two rows of seats in the stand for the first time in donkeys years when I was last there.

Yes I remember but I didn't think it was all that bad that day, I was there yesterday with Greg and I think it's more to do with the surroundings of the ground such as the grafiti that gives people like Gavin a bad impression and the park on the far side where kids can just do as they please. No doubt you will turn up now and again for the odd evening game and you'll be welcomed with open arms, Haringey Borough style, although I heard that you didn't see eye to eye with one or two people when Kentish Town were plying their trade at your place last season, how come.

Actually our ground is in a LOT better shape then Hendon's. The only plus they have is terraces beind both goals, but the weeds have taken over and need to be cut back. Our seating stand is better then Hendons with a much better view, as its a lot higher up, and Hendon's is low down and wooden.

Edgware's side terrace is maybe in need of some new guttering, but the terraces are fine and even have bright yellow lines down the steps, as ordered by the league when the scum groundshared with us.

As I said only the terraces behind the goal at Hendon are better then Edgware, apart from that we have one of the best grounds in the whole Spartan league I would wager.

Gav let's be serious Hendon's is a proper non league ground that needs to have some money spent on it to restore it to it's forma glory.
The White Lion is a dump, the changing rooms are crap, the terraces are [****!!****] to go with the tinpot stand, the pitch is a joke and trying to take a corner is almost impossible.
Ask anyone that's played at both and Hendon's would always come out on top.

Thanks for that support Maldini, I've surprisingly never been to Edgware even though I've always lived in Norf London but as you say most non league grounds these days simply need money spending on them and there is very little about or the Club's hierarchy either aren't prepared to put their hands in their pockets or can't be bothered to chase funding streams that are out there. Wingate and Finchley and Waltham Forest are Club's not afraid to spend a bit of dosh and they have above average facilities for their level so fair play to them.

Ok, so the situation re corners is not great, but its been like that for a good few years now. Tin pot stand? well put it this way, that IS the best seating stand in the Spartan league, so what does that say about the state of grounds in the Spartan.

Changing rooms, well I have not been in them, but I have heard they are good enough with hot water and showers, what else do you want.

As for the terracing, the side terrace is fine, just the guttering on the roof needs to be fixed, and that stand is an original from the 40's I think and looks in better shape then Hendons.

We dont have any teraces behind either goal, but not many teams do. Brook house and Hertford town both have good covered terracing behind the goal, but only at one end and they dont have side terraces.

Sure Ware is a nice ground, but is a kit ground with no style or character. One of the only plus points about having wealdstone ground share with us was that the ground was brought up to Isthmian grade A level for them to be able to play in the Ryman prem.

You will have to pop over and see a game this season Rhodes, let me know when you decide to come and see a game at the WLG.

Wingate have a nice ground, and their big seating stand has loads of character as its doubles as a seating stand for the rugby pitch next door.

I didn't realise you had visited EVERY ground in the league to justify the above statement. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

Just out of interest how many does your stand seat?

Manorborn, obviously Gavin hasn't been to Haringey has he, their stand holds 280 and is massive, it's like climbing Everest to get up to it and the view of the game is second to none, on a par with a Premiership ground. Just a shame about the hundreds of pigeons that nest in the roof, don't come to Coles Park in your Sunday best. As I said haven't been to Edgware so can't comment but the ground looks 'interesting' from the photos posted today by Gavin on another thread.

Gavin - It's funny to read some of the stuff on this thread almost a year on, little did you know what would be in store and I expect you'll have a tear in your eye reading it. Have you come to any financial arrangement with Harrow Borough or is it still early days.
