Edgware Town v Harrow Borough

Recommended Posts

An exciting game with over 100 spectators for a Tusday night. Edgware lost by a silly mistake and an own goal but in total had the better chances.

The Wares squad of 20 were all impressive and the Managers will have a hard job not to select any of them.

No, he is actually Paul, Edgware's press Secretary. Over 100, I find that hard to belive for a game that Harrow said was a team made up of trialists.

Still, good turnout if it was. I was not there, but hope to make the game on Sat v Wingate & Finchley

It's okay Paula, Gavin will remember from Potters Bar Town's (see I'm learning) post earlier that people aren't allowed to identify others by real name or he'll be down on them like a ton of bricks, why don't you have a handle yourself by the way, I can think of one or two names that would suit you. How are you tonight anyway, I know you got the new Canvey shirt today and can't wait to see you in it. x

I did originally have a diff name on here (Babs) but everyone at the club though that was my real name so changed it.

So what names do you think I should have then??

I dread to think.

I'm fine thanx and you'll see me in the shirt soon enough!!

Hope your feeling better now - don't like you to be stressed - have a good cure though

Speak later

I'll tell you if you like NeutralFan but it will cost you, Paula has magic fingers! Babs eh Paula, as in Carry On Camping or something else, look forward to seeing you in the shirt soon, and out of it! Anyway we had better get off this thread or we will have Gavin after us but just want to say that over 100 fans for a friendly with Harrow Borough was excellent, what sort of crowd are you expecting for the first game of the season then against Biggleswade United.

Well blame Potters Bar Town for that not me. Why did you start a new thread for your Harrow Borough report and not put it in here, will people be starting new threads to report on every SSML game they attend this season as we could end up with hundreds, there will be 40 from Edgware alone plus cup games. Were people going up to Les every five minutes on Tuesday for autographs, I expect you were amazed to see a man of his calibre walk through the gates of the White Lion, did you charge him.

....

You taking the piss Rhodes? as for match reports on each game, YES, I WILL be starting a new thread for EVERY game, makes the forum look more busy anyway.

Dont Kentish Town have any pre season games?

Okay, no offence meant but Les Ferdinand is pretty famous in footballing circles, just wondering whether he paid like everyone else. No as we have only recently negotiated the ground share with Hendon we are still trying to sort out dates and when we can use the stadium, league and cup games during the season won't be a problem as long as we avoid their home games. We are hoping to have a friendly at Ruislip Manor next Thursday however our players are naturally fit and we don't feel that friendlies for the sake of it are life or death, we're pretty confident we will hit the ground running on 19 August. The only problem will be our Man Utd of division 1 tag, 1974/1975 style, with teams at our level coming to a palatial place like Hendon to play and will be all out to impress.

Er because we have a nomadic status in a 'no one likes us we don't care' sense, not like Millwall but because we unfortunately can't get a ground in our home Borough of Camden and always have to look to ground share out of the area which is a pain in the rear end. Two seasons ago we were at Haringey Borough, last season at Potters Bar Town and now this season at Hendon, not ideal but at least we're playing at fairly decent grounds and certainly way above the Level 6 standard hence our Man Utd of division 1 tag. I wonder where we'll be next season, Edgware perhaps.

...
Rhodes mate...have you been to Hendon's ground lately? its' um....not the best it was. To be frank it's in a real bad state. Sure, the bar/ function rooms are still nice, but remember this is a ground that was ready to be pulled down at the end of last season. Hendon are still looking at options to move, I dont see Claremont road being their home much longer sadly.

A lot of money is needed if they do stay, to bring the ground up to standard. I went by there the other day, and it was not a pretty site.

Sure, compared to most of the places you visiti in the Spartan league it comes up well as a true football ground, BUT...dont get too dissapointed when you realize that playing at Hendon's ground is not actually that wonderfull.
