I hope ths is correct re:Pal Nicholls and he does sign up for the Gate.

 

I forget which of the top Ryman teams has signed McMahon but some title contender has -i know it did not work out in his 20 mins with Margate, but it seems he is highly rated around the Ryman,and got rave psf reviews- as is Nicholls, and in this most competitive league,we need to be up there signing players in key positions .

He could be worth an extra 10 points to us, which may mean play-offs

 

Nicholls looked good-and took command of the defnece-so would be major asset.2 blinding saves on saturday to keep us in the game

 

This league is going to be so tight amongst the top 10 teams next season

I would not say title contender but it is Billericay who have signed Billy McMahon. Nicholls is available because Heybridge have signed Danny Gay from Braintree. It looks as if Essex clubs are all changing goalkeepers.

 

Having said that IMO Nicholls is the best of the bunch and we should pull out all the stops to sign him.

Good keeper its true. Shorter than the average keeper but still good. Have to see what he's like in the air. The other Keeper(Chalmers Smith) is equally as good. Nice to have a choice though. Feel sorry for the one that fails to get signed on. Budget obviously wont allow & it would be a travesty should one of these two fine keepers end up as second choice & sitting on the bench..at ANY club.

Nicholls caught a couple of crosses last sat. ,so like you, had a few fears of the 'Trego syndrome',

but Nicholls is different class and no problems there i think-bosses the area and comes for the ball.

 

He appears to be well thought of in the league aswell.

 

Just hope we sign him

Very vocal too,which is a good thing,obviously. Not as vocal as the Dover keeper(Darren Smith) I watched in action at the Crabble the other night..He was way way over the top with his vocals.He wasnt at all constructive in any way whatsoever. Just pure "gob". You will see what I mean at our friendly soon down there. My god I was often shouting for him to shut the [****!!****] up. It would have been possible to hear him in Deal I would have thought.

Getting back to OUR prospective keeper,yes his popularity seems to be there.Just why,if he is so good,do other clubs not keep hold of him or chase his services..Still from what I have seen of him & from what others have too he will do for me.It will be their loss & our gain I think.

I am feeling some sympathy for Chalmers-Smith here as he has done equally as well & has proved that in more than the one game. Oh to be able to have both. Not possible I know what with Charlie still on the books but a shame nevertheless.Still whichever keeper we keep the other will have a guaranteed a first team slot elsewhere I would have thought.

Nicholls did not play for Fisher in tonights 3-1 friendly against Spurs XI. I wonder if he is going ot be a bench warmer at Fisher

I do not think so Alex. What you have to realise is that when you play inferior teams you do not field you best players. Now if it was a QPR XI??

Fisher had 5 put past them on saturday, and there was some criticism of Nicolls by the (few) Fisher fans.

 

But he is a good goalie and wish him well.

He has signed for Fish., so lets hope RT secures S-C-S before someone else snatches him up aswell.

Everyone seems to agree that S-C-S is equally capable ,so lets get him signed asap
