Jimmy
Partly right about the "many changes tonight bit" but he read out the team first then added "and the subs" then read out the rest. I do know the guy far better than anyone else on here ever could. You won't get an apology - perhaps if you educated yourself with what your own players actually look like then you wouldn't blame them for errors it was impossible for them to commit or refer to them as "number 4" or "number 8". Alan W (GNFC)
Jimmy & BustaGut - can we avoid getting into one of those silly slanging matches we regularly seem to get on here, please? Does it really matter who said what & when? Lets just enjoy taking the positives out of last night and hope its the start of a far more entertaining, enjoyable & ultimately successful season - while not getting carried away, theres every chance that last nights squad could provide those 3 things. Jimmy
Agreed Alan - it's just annoying to see people who do things for the club getting the blame for someone not being able to identify their own players. It happens occasionally on here - there's always someone who talks a good game but never actually does anything.
American FLEET FAN No1
If there were trialists playing, would anyone know who they were without being told? I agree you should know your long term players!

BustaGut
Apparently you are supposed to guess who they are. Hey ho always someone on here that thinks there a god and think there always correct ABOUT EVERYTHING AND ANYTHING.but most of the forum had no idea who these players were, There again we are a uneducated bunch, due to the fact we had no idea who a bunch of players were that had no names on there shirts, the shirt numbers did not correspond with the programe that the club had printed!!!! and 50% of the team were new or unknow trialist!!!!! But as you say Alan is a silly thing to argue about and as the website has not been updated as yet, due to the fact that club has yet to finalise the squad. Taking that into account it is hard to a know who is who unless you are`a mind reader or in the know!!!!!! Talk a good game ????? I think I compliented the team, that prob went past you as you are so quick to pick a fight like a number of others on here. There again your entitled to your opinion and your welcome to it. As the attitude on here is so bad at time it stinks I can understand fully why the club is losing supporters. Because of attitudes of some on here I can understand why others have said stick you club and go of to watch Charlton Gillingham etc For very little more cost. And without this Attitude
jc
Quote: BustaGut said: most of the forum had no idea who these players were Just as well that the correct names of all the players were announced over the tannoy then, including a quite clear differentiation between those who were starting the game and those who were substitutes. It's hard to know how anyone who listened to this announcement could have thought Mott was the goalkeeper. Riverview Red
Nice inter-passing and approach play last night, which was joy to watch at times Most of the new guys look like "footballers" and Opinel looks like he may enjoy the odd scrap or two! We lacked bite in front of goal but Charlie is well short of match fitness so hopefully he will be fine for the big kick off No comment on the keeper - hopefully he won't darken our doorstep again! But generally me and Posse were impressed with the "story so far" Hopefully, we can do it when it matters

Bill Kent
Hi Busta and others. Just to get the story straight. The announcer did state that number one (which I have to assume was the shot stopper)went by the name of Brown. Great to be back watching the Fleet last night. Really enjoyed it. Hastings for Dons looked embarassed scoring his second goal. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/bow.gif" alt="" />

Fleetbabe
I apologise that the numbers on the back of the programme didn't correspond to shirt numbers in some cases, they were just the numbers I was given to use.
Charles Webster
The goaslkeeper was Alan Brookes, on loan/trial from Millwall.
Gally221263
Reminiscent of playing football on a Sunday morning and just pulling a shirt out of the kit bag and just hoping that it fit. I'm sure they'll be able to work it out when their names are printed on the back, if they run out to play with the wrong shirts on then, that's the time to worry….. Alan W (GNFC)
Just leave it out now, Busta - if you're getting so worked up over this, I dread to think what you'll be like if something serious goes wrong! A heart attack may well be on the cards, if you dont chill somewhat.
