Report in brief from King Tut, 'Beams looked steady in goal, woody busy in second half, odhiambo looked decent, Jarvo won a competetive drop ball and came close with a volley. Mason gets MOTM.'

 

Finished 0-0 and we looked the better side following the plethora of second half subs from Enfield.

Not bad considering we were down to the bare bones and playing players out of position. Although as it finished 0-0 i'm quite glad the M4 decided to make me give-up travelling due to the traffic!

Mason had a lively game as did Leon when he came on. Jarvis had another strong performance playing out of position and the keeper didn't make any mistakes.

I had wondered why Ted Jones kept stuffing his face!

 

Jarvis looked far more comfortable in defence than in midfield and I would hope we wouldn't consider him sat in front of the back three come the start of the season. Once back in defence after Steve Daly went off we held a good line and dealt comfortably with Enfield, though admittedly by then they had used lots of subs.

 

When we had a competitive drop ball Jarvo was first to step up as well. Took no prisoners either.

 

I'm not warming to him but in 1 full game and the hour or so he played against Maidenhead he has kept his head down and got on with the job. True these were friendly matches but so far he's done nothing to antagonise the supporters since joining the club. Long may that continue

John Beams is a very steady goalkeeper and got player of the season and supporters player of the season at his local side Abingdon United. Dont let him borrow any money off you though as he owe's 3 quaters of Abingdon money.

poss sounds like a good game.

were there progames or a team sheet or none.

if so does anyone have a spare copy for cover price say. i will be there at beconsfield if any spare will poss anyone also missed what sounded like a good ground sadly missed. did anyone see any storms about or go by train. i decieded not to as 30 dels liv st - ware so a big prob at the wrong time signals i think. i hope nobody else got stuck by train delays.
