That's because they were labouring under the bizarre misapprehension that having only half a dozen or so players in May meant we automatically wouldn't have enough two months later.

It's debatable whether Slatter is a genuine winger though.

For me it's his best position.

 

He seemed to lose it when he started to be shifted around to accomodate Drury.

 

I suspect we may see the best of him this year.

Agreed there, thats where he worked best imo, and it was only Drury's sulks and illness that kept him from his best.

Totally agree about Slatter, think we may see a much improved player this year!

 

With Drury gone I reckon he will have more freedom.
