having only gained 1 point out of a possible 6,i'm afraid i can't see us beating aldershot on saturday unless there is a huge improvement from the team.i hope i am wrong & if we do win i'll eat my words but i don't think there is much chance of that. But i'll be cheering us on all the way <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/director.gif" alt="" /> 'COME ON YOU SAINTS'

For some unknown reason, we are the sort of team who seem to play better against bigger teams ie. Aldershot and less so against lower teams. Anybody got any explanations to this?

With this in mind, I can see us playing well against Aldershot on Satuday and maybe sneaking a draw. Anything will do!

to be honest a draw at home really isn't good enough not if we are looking for promotion to the conference.I have a feeling we might scrape it 1-0 or 2-1. My prediction is craig mackail-smith to score his 1st goal for the club & to give the saints the 3 points.

how many are expected on saturday.we need to be looking at least about 800 home fans at least.the club should've set a cashback scheme with local schools, something like when a parent buys a ticket a child goes free.this would get loads more support.Saracens did this with schools in watford- buy a child ticket adults come 1/2 price. Not a bad idea!

its quite sad to be honest especially when the chairman said at the start of the season he wanted gates of 750 plus.all it would take is to put an advert in the observer & the advertiser. send representatives to local primary & secondary schools aswell.whats the harm in trying?also what happened to the penalty shootout comps at half-time i used to enjoy those.get them up & running again Charge each team an entry fee, more money for the club.

Well I'm fairly optimistic about the Aldershot game; Basingstoke and Ford were always going to be tough fixtures away as they are both in a bit of form at the moment.OK we're probably currently playing at about 80% of our capability but Aldershot aren't putting in great performances either. I can see us winning if we put our chances away and don't do anything silly at the back (a big 'if' I know). There should also be a reasonable crowd, around 4-500 from them and 5-600 from us I reckon, might even get up to 1500 you never know.

The same amount of advertising as it always is, sweet FA. t.henry, those ideas, whilst good, have already been spoke about many times before, and ignored.

80% of our capability, RTS??

Try 25-30%. We didn't beat Basingstoke and Ford because they're in a bit of form?? Aldershot are top of the league. Their form, shall we say, could be worse.

Just trying to look on the bright side, GHA, but it's not easy. The point I was trying to make about Aldershot is they have been grinding out results without exactly setting the world alight. OK, that may be the mark of a great team but it also means they are not unbeatable. We shall see how good they really are on Saturday.

I think the crowd will be nearer 2000 myself. i think the fact it's almost xmas will help the crowd and its still a top of the table clash, if Hitchin v Aldershot can get a crowd of nearly 1000 and there is no home support and its not a top of the table clash then I'm sure we can.

That'll bring the average crowd right up.

Stafford Browne scored on saturday, anyone notice!

Why not?

Exciled City fans are back for Xmas - Students, yorkshire branch and so on.

Normal crowd of 500 anyway

Top of the table clash - extra fans popping in, our games aginst the likes of Aldershot and Dagenham in recent years when we've been near the top have got crowds of 1500

Large away following - 700+

Holiday period

Send the wife Xmas shopping (like you'll be doing, I'm sure)

All equals big crowd to me - you see if i'm wrong

MAD, Don't jump ship. The team needs all the support it can get with Aldershot threatening to get too far ahead. Besides reinforcements from North America are on the way to lend support at Xmas.
