Hammett came second in the supporters player of the year???

And whos got the cheek to say that Jim made some strange dicisions during last season. It seems our supporters were also prone to strange laspes of judgment as well.

Saying that,Brian starts with a clean slate with me this season.I hope he does well.Plays better than last season and has a really successful season for us.

I FOR ONE THOUGHT HE HAD A DECENT SEASON hope he scores more goals this season and that he finds the right partner up front the signs are good

Hey, and me! I agree with Gazza and, dare I say it, LS. Hammett was poor last season. He didn't have the right strike partner, that's true but he was also very poor. If he starts putting them away this season then all fans will get behind him, I am sure.

Town fans probably ought to get behind him. Unless someone says otherwise I think you will find he is the new team captain!

I agree we need to get behind him. It is the start of a new season, a clean slate and all that and a few big fixtures right from the start. I do have my doubts about him being club captain. Not because of who he is but because of the position he play in. I always think the captain should be a defender or midfielder.

What rubbish. Jim's job as manager is reliant upon ETFC having a good season. I realise that Brain is a part of this but if he doesn/'t perform then Jim can drop him.

Let's hope that all this doesn't happen, Brian has a good season as does the club and we take a place at step 3 in 2007/8.

Yeah, just like he dropped him last year, everytime he had a dip in form. Do you think the captaincy will make that more or less likely to happen this season,if his form dips again? I really believe the form of our striker and captain will decide IF we have a successful season or a poor one,and that will ultimately decide whether Jim remains as manager in 2007-2008.

I really hope that both Brian is successful this season and that Jim remains as a winning manager. But i've got the feeling that Jim (and especially Peter) would rather go down with the ship, than chuck their favourite son overboard.Lets hope that that situation doesn't arise.

PS..An encouraging sign was that Brian was our best player against Spurs before he got injured. If he can carry that form into the league campaign, we will be alright.

Bryan Hammett may be a good option for "Club Captain", I do not know how he gets on with the other players, but it is always difficult for a Player in the team with their Dad as part of the management team.

For me there is only one Player for Captain on the pitch ( from last season's team ) and that would be the very enerjectic and vocal RUSSELL PENN.

He is the only player who you always hear encouraging other players and demanding more from them.

PENN for Captain.
