Pat Sappleton

Sappleton played for us in a 5-2 pre season victory over Fisher. Any thoughts on what kind of player he is and what he could bring to the club.

A good player and a good centre back...can sometimes suffer from being a little over eager when going into a "last ditch" tackle and last season lost it a couple times which led to a sending off at Braintree...

First impressions eems a little bit slow and not the best in the air, but excellent positional play.

 

What do you guys think-a good acquistion if he signs for the 'Gate ?

I disagree with Michael, I thought he was excellent in the air alongside Trotty. Hope we can snap him up

Reassuring if i got that wrong then.

 

It worried me that Steve Watts did beat him a couple of times to headers, but in fairness,Watts is a bit of a handful.

 

As Taffy says-hope he is signed up.

Would agree he looked to be good in the air and would go well in our defence. I remember another defender who we signed four years ago and Stevenage fans said he was volatile but we made him a great player... Sam Sodje
