Since Yesterday..

.. I've been wondering whether it really is all that bad, with what's happened to the club.

 

It was nice to be able to go back to the ground and pay £4 for admission, which I used to pay several years ago for a kids ticket.

 

It was also nice to see a fresh, young new team. I'm always a person who likes to see a few signings come in pre-season (Don't we all?) and I couldn't really of hoped for anything more than an entirely new team to look at I guess.

 

As much as I miss Potter/Boylan/all the others we had, I think we really could have something great in front of us here. The team really seemed itching to get going yesterday, like they had something to prove.

 

John Batch seems like a great manager who genuinely loves the club, I don't feel Jeff was all that commited on that front.

 

What was especially nice was being able to get up this morning to a full match report, something the club managed to starve us of as we went up the leagues.

 

Where the negatives are obvious in this situation, when I started supporting Canvey, and that's the reason why I started supporting them, my love for non-league football.

 

This post may seem a little pointless, but when I arrived yesterday, I was on a real low, nothing seemed right, but now, a day on, I say we bring on the new season, and hope for a great one!

all the few years that i have supported canvey i have never been to any friendlies ,but hey ho its a new era so lets try one.

ladies and gentlemen cifc are not as reported dead and buried,we are alive and well and after watching our new babies on saturday are going to grow into a wonderful team,god the effort they put in made me tired by half time,well done everyone it looks like its going to be a hellava roolercoaster ride this season.

wasn't it also nice to hear the crowd announced as 396 and actually believing it was correct

Every attendance that will be announced will definately be 100% accurate, you can rely on that.

do the attendances include the people that get comps from the players?

It does, but only 18 people were eligible to enter via the complimentary entrance on Saturday, so that means there were 378 paying supporters. totally agree, to be honest i saw a few ressie games last season and i was abit nervous as to how the lads would cope, but after the way that all the lads played on sat there are no more nerves!!

Tomorrow will be another great test of how the squad can perform against opposition of a lower level, who could well be up for upsetting us! It could well prove tougher physically than Saturday's match, which I think is what the players continually need to show us their worth.

 

Will be great to get a few chants going tomorrow night too. A rendtion of "Johnny Batch's Yellow Army" wouldn't go a miss! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
