Eastbourne Borough - today

Recommended Posts

Gravesend & Northfleet: Mott, Hawkins, Ross Smith, Jamie Smith(Brown, 80 mins), Opinel(Jackson), Quinn(Roberts, 85 mins), Keeling(Purcell, 86 mins), Long(Carey, 67 mins), Slatter(Boyce), Ekoku(Moore, 72 mins), MacDonald(DeBola, 58 mins).

Substitutes(not used): Groombridge, French. Garrick did noyt play but is still on trial according to Liam.

For what it's worth, in my opinion, with close to our starting line up I thought we looked very good and all the trialists acquited themselves well. Liam hopes to announce another signing this week - could be DeBola who looked the business and can play in midfield or up front.

Highlight of the afternoon was Jon Keeling bursting into the Boro area and throwing himself in to a shoulder charge with the full back - a full 12" taller - to try and win a penalty. The ref didn't want to know. Hilarious. Keeling is a genius.

We had a good match, but I have to say Eastbourne played very well and they seemed to dominate the game for a good bit of the first half.

Good to see Charlie back on form talking to all the EX Crawley players. Sounds like things are bad at Crawley so they should not be a problem this year!

Thanks again for the update Chas, forgive an old man who can't keep up with the changes but Jackson, Carey, French ooo are ya? oo are ya?

I am presuming they are triallists, does anyone have any details on them?

Also, does this mean that the other 20 or so triallists have been let go?

The reports from Eastbourne sound encouraging and I am looking forward to seeing the new team on Wednesday.
