Try dropping some white powder into your Strongbow and stirring it!

Talking from experience, Laz? <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

I'll think I'll pass on that idea.

Word reaches me that we will have draught Strongbow in the bar next season!

It's not perfect but it's a step in the right direction after a season or two of warm bottled cider which often sells out.

Would you beleive that the Strongbow was "off" last night?

How can this be? It can't have sold out as this was the first opportunity to sell some!

Hi Laz.

There was a small problem in the clubhouse before the game last night with all the tap things non-operational. It was something to do with the electricity to the clubhouse having been switched off during the day or the electricity not having been switched on until late or something along those lines. Not being techinically minded, i rather 'switched off' at that point, if you'll pardon the pun.

Anyway.

Never mind the Strongbow, where's Vicki Baxter?

I'm seeing Vicki tomorrow night, AFF - I'll let her know you're asking after her!

I think she's rather upset at the whole bar situation, to be honest. I think I would be too in her position in honesty.

Strongbow is piss, by the way. Can we have Addlestones (which has now been put on tap in the Boot! Yay!) or Westons on draught, please?

How come the "bitter" and "lager" were working then? I'm not techincally minded either but logic suggests that if one pump isn't working because the electricty was stopped then the similar ones should too.

Zealster, I agree, a range of ciders and perrys, cloudy or otherwise would give an excellent choice in the bar, but somehow I get the feeling only you, Thorns and myself would appreciate them.

As for Baxter, she was the only good thing about the bar. Why did they get rid of her?

I did say that I'm not technically minded, Laz. Before the game, until 7.15 when I went down to enjoy the pre-match atmosphere thing, none of the tap things were working, and only cans were available.

I would have a word with that husband of the Bar Manager chap concerning these issues.

I disagree. I think a lot of people would drink it if it was there. I think more people like a decent cider than is given credit for. It's like real ale in that respect.

It seems that no-one at the club even had the decency to tell her she'd be no longer needed. As far as she was concerned, she was waiting for the call from the club before the first pre-season.

I think it's very poor that, just because Vicki and James are no longer running the bar, that the club have decided against keeping her on.

Surely there's some employees rights that would protect her here??

For those of us not priviledged to sit among the scribes, banter on the terrace was restricted to the beer in the bar.

I'm no expert but I believe the "bitter" not only tasted off but looked off!

Mr Farmer was moaning about the fizzy yellow stuff too!

We have one more BIGGIE to get this right! If not then I'm sure the hoards from Cambridge United will have their say.

Another point...

Why have the bar stools been moved? I'm assuming this is to make the bar more accessible but why are they placed between the tables? It looks odd and didn't see anyone sitting on one.

I wouldn't know about any of this stuff, chaps. In addition to not being technically minded, I don't do interior design or Employment Relations.

We do have two BIGGIES, of course. Hampton & Richmond Borough on Thursday is now to take place at t'Park and Sheffield United Reserves at the Fortress on Saturday week.
