Good luck to you Chops. You'll need it,playing on a ground with a running track round it and virtually no home support. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/achso.gif" alt="" /> I'm afraid any atmosphere you experience next season will be totally down to away fans.

This is not specifically aimed at you Chopper, but a word of warning to all those that have left the Town for pastures new.As a collective in the Town fold and with the support of the managment/Staff and supporters, you have all been successfull ,and by and large, have been regulary winning games of football.Without exception any player than has left ETFC, has seen a distinct lack of both of those things,at the new clubs they have gone too.Not ONE player has created the success they enjoyed at the town, with their new clubs (or subsiquent clubs). There are 15 to 20 examples of this.Take Clarkey,he was prolific, highly rated and feared during his time with the Town.He thought the grass would be greener elsewhere, but since he left the Town he has failed to make any impact at numerous other clubs. And there are many many other examples of this.Thats just my word of caution to those that have decided to seek a new challange.

I know LS. ET will always be close to my heart, I think you and many others know that and that will not change.

As you said though it is a fresh challange for me.

Who has signed the likes of Faulkerner and Hunt?? From my understanding ,we have not signed ANY new players yet.If Players have asked for trials, we will have a look at them.If our manager wants to trial other players who have impressed him in the past whilst playing against us,we will have a look at them also.Town have at least six or seven quality players left from last season. With four of five trialist beginning to look promising, its beginning to take shape.I'm sure more players will be looked at in the forthcoming friendlies.Make no mistake,Towns starting 11 for the first league game will be as strong (if not stronger) than last seasons team.

Give last seasons Town squad to Jim Chandler (backed by Towns supporters) and they would come top four.It will be fascinating to see where those same players come in the league without Chandler as manager and without the same level of support.

Can't wait for the season to start.

You have LS. See your club website:

Player News
With a number of players leaving the club over the summer, there have been three new signings so far with more expected. Former Hendon players Ricci Crace and Dave Hunt have confirmed they will be playing for the club this coming season, while Waltham Forest player Simon Tickner has also made the short move from East London.

Sorry LS but I disagree with you. Last season's squad was good enough to win the league. It was the team selection and tactics that was wrong.

Lets see if they finish higher than third, with another manager, at another club.Thats all i'm saying. But i agree with you about some tactical and selction decisions last season.

LS lets be honest jims TEAM selection last year was way off come on. ill give you 4 of our players from last year that have now moved on and you tell me who we have or going to replace them with

1)Rudi

2)Matt Negus

3)Chopper

4)David Allen

and there are plenty more that i could name.

As for Jims management im sure if you was to ask all the players that have left and the current players, he is nothing but a jumped up youth team manager !

All Rumours.I presume you are one of the players who jumped (was given a helping hand) off-ship, or are one of their relatives or friends.

Yes Jim has his faults.I was more vocal than most in highlighting them last season. The fact remains that his record is superb. No other manager at this level, could have gained more trophies or higher league places with the funds or players available. He takes players who have made little (if any) impact in the past, and who will make very little impact post-Town,and mould them into a winning side.Jim does make mistakes with regard to failing out with players, tactical lapses and some odd team selections, but he has that magic quality to win throphies and too constantly be challenging for the title.

Every time Jim is absent,Town play awful.Take the Spurs game.Or that deadful dispay at home at the end of last season when he missed a game.Coincidence??

the support is a massive factor in the clubs success.

it amazes me that a manager goes away during pre season!
